Trying to step into the shoes of Range Rover, Volvo has failed to keep up with the promise sent out in the teaser of Shanghai Auto Show. The Excellence edition unveiled in China was teased to turn more exclusive with a seat removed for the cabin to remain exclusively only for four, unlike to the standard seating of five.
Though, there are various tranquilities planted, but not every of them take away the attention directly. Ventilated leather seats, hand cut champagne flutes and other glasses, 19-speaker Bowers and Wilkins sound system, an expensive infotainments system, heated/cooled cup holder and many more are there to lift up the mood for every journey. Yet, the disappointment continues as the company aims to restrict this model only for China.
The numbers under the hood Excellence remains unchanged. A T6 petrol engine 320bhp, D5 diesel of 225bhp and T8 hybrid off 400hbp continue to surge through the market.
Hence, that was our take on the Excellence of Volvo with regards to XC90, but still the Swedes needs to work hard to match up to the standards of German rivals like Audi Q7, Mercedes-Benz GLE and BMW X5.
