Volkswagen eyeing Indian Heavyweights of the Auto Industry for its Top Management

Volkswagen India seems to be taking reduced sales figure on a serious note. To arrest the reducing sales, Volkswagen is trying hard to get Indian heavyweights of the auto industry in the top management.
Mr. Arvind Saxena from Hyundai joined VW as MD.
Another guy who is planning to join VW is Avik Chattopadhyay, former top executive of MSIL. Avik will join VW as GM, Marketing and will replace German national Lutz Kothe. Other names which are sprouting from the news to join VW are Ashish Anand – Hyundai’s Regional Manager, Hardeep Brar-former MSIL Dealer Development Head and Pankaj Sharma-now on board as VW Sales Head.

Volkswagen has disclosed an innovative European-market ‘Eco’ edition of its multitalented Up! city vehicle, fuelled with Compressed Natural Gas.
Compressed Natural Gas is a well known fuel alternative in the European market, which boasts the higher specific energy content as compared to petrol or diesel.
The company’s facts hint that 1 kilogram of Compressed Natural Gas is equal to 11.69kilowatt hour of energy as against diesel’s 9.86 kilowatt hour or Volkswagen petrol’s 8.77 kilowatt hour.

Volkswagen Taigun to compete with EcoSport

Volkswagen Taigun has now become the latest carmaker to join the mini-SUV war. The carmaker has recently revealed its concept SUV Taigun at the Sao Paolo Motor Show in Brazil. The concept strongly hints of a model that has been made to rival Ford’s EcoSport. The production model of Taigun will serve as a base for a whole new SUV series from Seat, Audi and Skoda.
VW’s R&D chief, Ulrich Hackenberg told that Volkswagen Taigun will be sold worldwide. Klaus Bischoff, VW Design Chief, said that the vehicle is logical, clean and confident. Volkswagen Cross Polo coming to Indian market

Volkswagen has postponed its proposals to fabricate the Up! in the Indian market. And therefore, for the coming 2 year period, the auto manufacturer plans to attract the market here and pick up demand by rolling out variants of its subsisting and renowned vehicles comprising Polo and Vento.
The initial one in Volkswagen proposal is the hatchback off-roader named Cross Polo.
The said car, with its tough off-road equipment, surpasses any ordinary hatch in terms of appearances. Knowing the Indian client’s liking for off-roader forms, this design must bring triumph for the maker.

2015 Volkswagen Phaeton to boast VW’s innovative family design

The substitution for the Phaeton will influence the complete Volkswagen array.
The new-gen Phaeton will bring in an innovative design direction for Volkswagen when it hits sales outlets by the year 2015.
The existing range got its influence by the Golf – which design honcho Klaus Bischoff has accepted was a big fault – so the car maker will take on a ‘top-down’ idea, headed by the latest flagship saloon.
“Utilizing a bottom-up design policy did not work,” Bischoff stated.
“Flagship vehicles such as the Phaeton should work as halo products and influence the system the other vehicles in the series appear, rather than the other method round.”
