Tata Launches Safari Dark Edition

Tata Motors added their flagship SUV the Safari in the stable of Dark Edition. It is priced at Rs 19.05 Lakhs (ex-showroom) and bookings are now open across dealerships. 

The Safari Dark edition is available in the XT+/XTA+ & XZ+/XZA+ trims.

The key highlights of the Dark Edition Safari are the signature Oberon Black exterior colour with 18” Blackstone Alloy Wheels. The interior too gets a premium Blackstone Dark theme. It also gets a few exclusive features for the dark edition like the ventilated seats on both 1st and 2nd row, air purifier & Android Auto – Apple CarPlay over Wi-Fi.

Mahindra Launches Buyback Campaign For BS-6 Trucks

Mahindra’s Truck and Bus Division launched a unique and disruptive customer value proposition of “Get More Mileage or Give Truck Back” Guarantee for their entire BS6 range of trucks.

Mahindra makes this claim by using the 7.2L mPower Engine for heavy commercial trucks and mDi tech engine for light commercial trucks. The technological advancements in the engine guarantee a higher mileage than being offered in the segment. Mahindra states, this will ensure prosperity for fleet operators as fuel expenses account for 60% of the operational costs. 

Further, the brand is also offering a service guarantee uptime for both workshops & roadside breakdowns. Mahindra promises to compensate owners with Rs 1000 per day if the trucks take more than 48 hours to get back on road after a breakdown. Similarly, a compensation of Rs 3000 per day is guaranteed for workshop service turnaround.

Tata Passenger Vehicles Sees a Price Hike 

Tata Motors announced a marginal price hike of 0.9% on its passenger vehicles owing to the rise in overall input costs and the global shortage of semiconductor chips. The price hike will be effective by 19th January, depending on the variant and model. At the same time, the Company has also taken a reduction of up to Rs 10,000 on specific variants, in response to feedback from customers.

Tata Motors also offers price protection for buyers who have booked the vehicles on or before 18th January.

Tata launches Tiago & Tigor iCNG Models

Tata Motors launched the iCNG models the Tiago & the Tigor. The Tiago is priced between 6.09 – 7.64 Lakhs & the  Tigor is priced between Rs 7.69- 8.41 Lakhs. Tata Motors claim that both the Tiago & Tigor are the most powerful cars in the CNG segment. Along with the dominance in power figures, they are the safest too with a long list of safety equipment like the dual airbags, ABS, EBD & corner stability program. 

In terms of convenience features, both the models get an advanced ECU, auto switchover between fuels & a segment-first feature of ignition with CNG fuel instead of petrol. The brand also suggests that with the advancement in CNG engineering, these new iCNG models will be able to refuel, faster than other CNG cars in the market. 

Along with these safety & convenience features, the iCNG Tiago & Tigor also come with intriguing features like projector headlamps, LED DRLs, chrome elements, & premium black & beige dual-tone interiors. These cars are also equipped with rain-sensing wipers & auto headlamps.

Mahindra Group and Hero Electric Partners for Electric Mobility

The Mahindra Group & Hero Electric recently announced their partnership to accelerate the growth in electric mobility to meet the growing demands. The strategic partnership will create multiple synergies to smoothen the transition and promote the adoption of EVs in the country. 

Hero Electric & Mahindra have strategized the plan for increasing the production of electric bikes- the Optima and NYX, by manufacturing them at Mahindra’s production facility at Pitampur. This will significantly increase the production capacity of Hero electric to meet the demands. 

This Partnership will also help the brands to start electrification of the Peugeot Motorcycle lineup. This will not only expedite the electrification but also save both the brands, time and money. Together they can utilize the shared knowledge & human resources to meet the demands of the growing global EV environment.
