Force India added more points to their World Championship tally, with Paul Di Resta scoring 6 points for the team finishing at the seventh place at the Hungarian GP held in Budapest. Force India, teammate, Adrian Sutil, however did not managed a point scoring finish as he came in at 14 place after an incident during the first lap.

Paul Di Resta was quoted as saying that he was quite happy with his seventh place win today. The race was quite mixed, with it raining in the start, however he still had a good start and was quite comfortable with the weather condition. It was then a matter of which tyres he would choose. During the middle 2 stints, they decided to opt for the supersoft, concluding to race on primes. While they lost position during the final stop, he managed to fight back and enter the seventh place during the last few laps. Coming in at the seventh place was the best way for him to respond, following many races at which they weren’t able to get the possible results for various reasons. It’s nice for him to head to the summer break being happy as he scored significant points which are important for ratings in the world championship tally.

Force India driver and his teammate, Adrian Sutil said that he did not have a very good start, and his chance to have a points winning finish ended during the initial lap itself, when he locked rear into chicane. He was just following Paul, and for avoiding a crash, he was forced to leave the track and thus lost many places. Following, this incident, it was a matter of recovering whatever he could, and when it began raining mid-race, he immediately had to switch to intermediates. During this time they were out of the points lead place, and so decided that it was worth taking the risk. However, there was not that much of rain, and therefore he had to switch to the optional tyre after a few laps. He said it was quite shame not to be able to convert this strong qualifying into points; however, he is happy for Paul and their team.

Meanwhile, owner of Force India, Dr. Vijay Mallya, who is the team principal and chairman, was quoted as saying that he is once again pleased at adding six significant points for consolidating their position in the championship. Paul had a great race, and didn’t do anything wrong, and was really deserving of the result. He made the correct calls regarding the tyres as the rain began again, as it was not clear if or not they should make a switch to intermediates. The decision of Paul to continue driving on prime tyres paid off. Meanwhile, Adrian’s race got compromised during the beginning lap, and though they tried bringing him back to a point’s contention place, things did not go according to his way. Overall they can be quite happy with their performance, and can head into summer break being quite optimistic about the remainder of the season.
