Ford India has picked up the pace of brining in automatic vehicles to the Indian market. The 28th of February witnessed the launch of its latest automatic sedan, the Ford Fiesta, which follows the launch of its automatic SUV, the Ford Endeavour. The ball does not stop rolling here if casual indications made by Ford India Managing Director, Micheal Boneham, have been correctly interpreted. It is expected that the Ford EcoSport will be the next car to feature automatic transmission.
The uniquely designed automatic gearbox of Ford has been equipped with the latest in technological features and all this is expected to be provided to the Ford EcoSport. The officials of Ford who were present during the launching of the automatic variant of the Ford Fiesta have neither confirmed nor denied this possibility. The query was diplomatically handled by Ford India Managing Director, Nigel Wark, who said that this factor was completely dependent upon the engineering team of the auto maker.
The sudden spurt of bringing in cars having automatic transmission into the Indian market by Ford has resulted from the increasing globalization of the automobile market here. The consumers in India are now displaying greater interest in owning vehicles that are equipped with the latest in international technology. By launching the latest version of the Ford Fiesta, the automobile giant from the United States has been able to demonstrate the fact that cars with automatic gears match their counterparts having manual gears on the aspect of fuel efficiency. This is going to be a major USP for the automatic gear cars as the automobile market has still not been able to achieve a firm grip on addressing the uncertainty caused by the varying prices of fuel. The Ford EcoSport compact SUV is being waited for very eagerly and is going to be the only vehicle that the car maker is going to launch in the Indian market this year.
