Great Wall Motor Company eyeing Indian market

China’s 8th largest automaker company, Great Wall Motor Company wants to open a plant in India. A delegation from the company was recently in India to meet government, potential suppliers and SIAM, according to the media reports. If everything went well, it will become the first Chinese company to operate in India without any partner.

According to the reports, company is hoping to start manufacturing from 2016 in India. Company currently holds two production bases at Baoding and Tianjing both based in China. The company offers, Haval SUV, Great Wall Motor passenger car and a pick-up called Wingle. GWMC also sells SUVs and pickups in the upcoming markets like Russia and South Africa. It has established some over sea assembly lines and currently export it vehicles to over 100 countries.
