Yet for some it maybe another piece of boxy metal, but for many it is going to be their next “new car”. Termed as the India’s 4th bestselling car, Maruti Wagon R is now in the need of a fresh temptation to be filled in its place for the more aggressive market share here. Told to be there in the rumors for India launch, the spy shots of Wagon R Stingray at a photo shoot session (in India) seems confirming our doubts for the launch of same on our local shores.
Looking a lot different than our conventional Wagon R, Stingray edition has the sharp and aggressive styling cues. Sleek front grille, slimmer head lights, and the wider air dam make the appearance of Wagon R completely different than the outgoing model. However, the sides hadn’t received any of the changes, but the rear now gets more clear tail lamps than before.
Powering the engine will come from that same 1.0L K series, which would be extracting the yields of 68PS and 90Nm torque.
Interiors too will be changed. New seat fabrics, upgrades on music system, hopefully the ‘Stingray’ branded floor mats and door sills will make the scenario better than before. However, prices will also be notched by additional Rs. 20,000 – Rs. 30,000, this car is expected to make debut during the festive season of India by month of October or November, as what it seems from the spy shots.
Whilst, looking at the poster image we can expect a lot of buyers stranded for it clocking down the seconds for the roll out to happen soon!
