McLaren P1 was a much hyped topic in media for some quite good time but due to its foggy revelations the total know how wasn’t gathered to core.
But now McLaren itself had raised the curtain from its production spec P1, after making it to do rounds of Bahrain International Circuit and many others of Middle East regions. Clearing all the clutter around itself British carmaker initially declared its limited number of 375 i.e. maximum number of units to be produced, which is meant to be sold at a price of £866,000 each, and can be exclaimed to the fullest when seen on roads as ‘rarest glimpse’.
Getting to our concern, P1 will be embedded with IPAS (Instant Power Assist System) for claiming a shot of 0-100 kmph in less than 3 seconds, while a fraction of 0-200 kmph is possible under 7 seconds only. Lastly, 0-300 kmph will not take more than 17 seconds to complete full throttle. We need to mention that the digits are really astonishing, one tends to be flying when engulfed in such a masterpiece which is deliberately 5 seconds faster than its actual F1 spec. ‘Top notch must be its priority’ as going on in everybody’s mind, but defying them it can be a good dragster at the limited top notch of 350 kmph only.
Rear wings helps a lot in gaining tremendous speed because its movement jitters with air to transverse through it. It will be safe to say that Bugatti Veyron and P1 do have something in common as they drew (rear) wings aspect from aeronautical point of view.
McLaren P1 is slated to launch by the next week at Geneva Motor Show but is claiming the event with 3.8 liter V8 driving force of 916 horsepower (903 bhp) and 900 Nm of torque. The same powerplant can also be found in the MP4-12C as well.
Commenting on such a dwelling vehicle, Anthony Sheriff, Automotive MD of McLaren says, “Our aim is not necessarily to be the fastest in absolute top speed but to be the quickest and most rewarding series production road car on a circuit.”
Interiors are mostly consisted of carbon fiber thus helping the weight to be sustained at lowest possible point so that speed must get mightier than ever. After all, no luxury is provided inside the cabin but driver can adjust the seat from 28 degree to 32 degree backwards for comforting themselves on a race track which will be driven with helmets-on. However, an array of color options is available for soothing the eyes which too will also be applied with same colored stitches running across black interiors.
The McLaren P1 is capable of running efficiently on the roads as well as tracks so no need to get worried about emission which is clicked at 200g/km. Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires are used to brief more confident when riding at its top speed, while braking too is concentrated a lot. New type of carbon ceramic disc is marveled in it which is not deployed by any of the road legal till date.
We had already clarified that it is a true sports car so list of luxuries ends by mentioning a few i.e. satellite navigation system, climate control and premium audio system. Mentioning too that, no floor mats will be seen inside the cabin so luxury-addicted bugs must be careful while opting for this one.
