The much anticipated MG Hector premium SUV has been launched in India at Rs.12.18 lakhs and goes up to Rs.16.88 lakhs. The car has been launched in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol engine is a 143PS 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged one, while the diesel one is a 200PS 2.0-litre, four-cylinder unit.
Incidentally the diesel engine is the same one found on the Jeep Compass. The petrol variant can also be had in a mild-hybrid variant with a 48V battery connected to the petrol engine.
On the inside, the car features a massive 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system which stays connected to the internet full time. This is why the MG Hector is being sold as ‘India’s first connected car’. Features of the Hector includes ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, dual front airbags, hill hold and traction control. Top of the line variants get things like powered tail gate, six airbags, 360-degree surround camera, rain sensing wipers, a panoramic sunroof and heated outside mirrors.
