Since after many speculations and the sneak peek of test mules, Ford now finally landed us with production spec of its Ecosport at the Infinity Mall, Infinity Mall, Malad (W), Mumbai. Clearing all the clutter form its part, carmaker also revealed some of its technical bits.
Getting straight away to the point, this compact SUV will board three engine options with automatic as well as manual transmission. The most gratifying factor here is that, Ford also confirmed our speculations of 1.0 liter EcoBoost which had brought in many awards for this American badging and henceforth, it will be drawn into 8 different variants on the launch. All drivetrains to be lugged with petrol as well as diesel options, but prices are left scorching under the cover itself. Remarkably, one thing that had surfaced to us is that, rear mounted wheel is not a part of standard fitting but one has to purchase it by shelling out extra bucks. It is slated in this direction to save additional bundle of tax from government machinery, by claiming the overall length ‘less than 4 meters’.
One too can get a bite of EcoSport at the bespoken location, but before 17th March 2013.
Ford is also running a contest i.e. Urban Discoveries on its official website, which will conclude the best 100 hundred entries (as per given criteria) with a chance to drive EcoSport for 21 days. One has to send in pic of not-so-famous localities with maximum number of votes, and of course a best out of that 100 will drive away this beauty permanently. We are informing this so that, one’s expectations for launch must not haul before 21st April, because, this contest will end on 31st of March and then the next 21 days will be for winners to drive their assortment.
Lastly, a new sort of technology namely SYNC is seen embedded on this vehicle, which can do wonders on just the command of a voice.
