Skoda has now launched its Skoda Rapid diesel variant in Nepal, the same vehicle is already available for sale in the Indian market. The car has been available in all three variants in the Nepal with Active Plus, Ambition Plus and Elegance with the same 1.6 litre engine. All these models are already available in the Indian market. The car will be in direct competition with the cars like Volkswagen Vento TDI, Fiat Linea and Ford Fiesta in the Nepali market.
Speaking on the occasion, MD Skoda MAW (authorized distributor of Skoda in Nepal), Mr. Vishnu Kumar Agrawal said that they have revealed the diesel version of the car in the Nepali market as diesel cars are much more beneficial than the petrol versions. Diesel cars are more economic, high pick up and high torque and better mileage.
Being powered by the 1.6 litre diesel powertrain, the vehicle delivers maximum power of 103 bhp at 4400 rpm and highest torque of about 250 Nm at 1500-2500 rpm. The car is also better on economy figures with mileage of about 20 kmpl making it one of the most fuel efficient vehicles in the segment.
With the new Slogan that says “Drive by Excellence”, the Skoda Rapid is a pure sedan with the 1600cc displacement, company said in a statement. It further states that the car has been designed to provide driving pleasure to both passenger and driver. The Skoda Rapid diesel is available in five exciting colours – Brilian Silver, Deep Black Pearl, Candy White, Cappuccino Beige and the Flash red.
Mr. Agrawal further added that company has launched all three variants of Skoda Rapid at affordable price to encourage diesel vehicle among the people.
