Ashok Leyland Stile to Launch During Festive Season: Official

Recently unveiled the Stile twice, Ashok Leyland seems to have high hopes on their upcoming MPV, as what it can be considered from the statements given by officials of the automaker.

When interviewed by our friends at IndianAutosBlog, Dr. V Sumantran, Vice Chairman of Ashok Leyland said, “The Stile will be launched closer to the festive season,” which hopefully means the event maybe scheduled near the month of ‘October’ or nearby days.

No doubt that many of the new cars are going to conclude their fresh innings from that month itself, there will be Stile too working hard to maneuver its place in the heavily loaded lot of new bugs.

Being based on Nissan Evalia, Ashok Leyland Stile also possesses similar ergonomics to it, on inside as well as outside. So hopefully, when the question lauded to Dr. V Sumantran about the pricing similarities between Evalia and Stile he responded, it will be announced at the time of launch only. Meanwhile, the organizations will work on the strategy that could be applied here with this model plate regarding the same context.

It was also learnt, the supplier of Evalia will be shared with Stile too.

Making it clear in the initial stage, Stile will cater the transportation purposes, i.e. like in the fleet of taxis, BPO and call center pickup and drop vehicles, shuttle services and hotel limousines.

However, looking at the list of model plates available with us we got to know more of the confirmed launches to happen here, which are being trailed by cool number of expected as well. Following are the names that are going to make debut in this month as per to us:

Mahindra Vibe:

Mahindra Vibe is the hatchback version of Verito which is being chopped off by the boot space from its elder sibling. However, it is also learnt that the tailgate to be opened from the rear end of windshield leaving only a small amount of space for the luggage to barge in. Rear tail lamps are seen clipped on the edge of rear pillars. However, as nearing the launch, it had started reaching dealerships. Known for the yellow number plates most probably, Mahindra Verito hatchback also seems to be sharing the same trait in achieving major of shares of market i.e. from travel and tourist industry. Henceforth, pricing expected to remain down the line of Rs. 5 lakh. Engine specification says, Renault borrowed 1.5L K9K diesel mill to be in its bay producing 65 bhp and 160 Nm of peak torque whilst of a good fuel efficiency in return for the augmented segment. We think, Mahindra is eyeing a large chunk of volume in market that it had lost in the new SUV based taxation from 2013 Union Budget. 5th June 2013 is the officially slated date of receiving ‘Vibe’.

Ford EcoSport is the most awaited vehicle in India during the present times, which had created a good amount of fanfare due to its unique segmentation and positioning. Slotted in the compact SUV segment, EcoSport and its types are said to be riding the expositions of hatchback. Not much confirmed about the launch dates but we expect one from the June 11, June 14 and June 15 2013. However, the 1.0L EcoBoost, a 1.5L normally tuned petrol and the 1.5L diesel are the three engine displacement that are meant to be driven on Indian shores. Ashok Leyland Stile:

Ashok Leyland Stile is the first venture of automaker in the layman’s vehicle arena otherwise the brand has a reputed name in HCV segment. Getting cues from Nissan due to the official tie ups in between, Stile will receive many derivations form the Evalia. However, the automaker had displayed it at 2012 Delhi Auto Expo but due to some extensive R&D process, launch got delayed for a long while. Just caught testing yesterday itself, Stile is said to be doing the final rounds before the launch which is going to happen near the 15th of June, i.e. in the mid of this month. Learning more from the spy shots, we were bestowed that head and tail lamps to differ than the Evalia whilst of more comfort bits on Stile to be replaced by practical ones. Hence the core commuter segment is targeted under its hat, can be easily smelt from the hot derriere of expectations. The ongoing 1.5L K9K engine is talked to be engulfed in its engine bay producing a good 85 bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque. Even the CNG version in the pipeline is there to make debut shortly after the launch for serving its core purpose.

Mercedes Benz B Class Diesel:

Mercedes Benz B Class was launched last year but the Germans had made it available in the petrol version only. After receiving good response from pre-launch activity and also the media’s interaction on A Class, MB gained up those lost confidence and decided to launch the diesel version of its station wagon. As speculated, the same 2.2L mill of A Class will also be fitted in its bay. Hence, not much of the speculations to go with, but ending days of June to definitely to bring in the priorities for this star badged German brand.

Ashok Leyland Stile MPV to be launched on July 16th?

Ashok Leyland, country’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, is planning to increase its presence in the fast growing Utility Vehicle segment. The home grown auto major showcased its MPV Stile that is mainly based on the Nissan Evalia. The MPV was expected to hit the market by the end of 2012, but due to some reason its launch was delayed. It is also said that the new upcoming Stile MPV will be placed below the Nissan Evalia in the terms of pricing in the segment.

According to AutoCarPro Ashok Leyland’s Stile MPV will be revealed in the Indian market on July 16, 2013. There are also rumors in the market that vehicle might be launched during the festive season of Dushera and Diwali. The vehicle will be selling in two variant, diesel and CNG. It is also expected that Utility Vehicle might be blessed with the 1.5 litre Renault sourced K9K turbocharged diesel engine. This is the same engine that is also present in the Nissan Evalia. The diesel trim can churn out maximum power of 85 bhp and peak torque of 200 Nm. The engine is coupled with the five speed manual gearbox.

Ashok Leyland Stile
The Ashok Leyland’s Stile has been spotted a number of times during the test run. The vehicle basically looks similar to Evalia which is elegant and has appeared with the more traditional looking grille whereas the headlamp and the air duct are now smaller than its brother Evalia. Look wise there are much to compare with the Evalia but it would be better to see if Stile will be able to gain some good sale as it already known that Evalia is not doing any good for Nissan.

Expected Launches for May 2013

“May” is the month to expect something more of the adrenaline rush just after a fresh start of the new financial year, and this time it is going to get better than before, because the German moniker is expected to launch some of the big deals this month, that it was vying for so long on Indian shores. Listed below are the lost of expected bespoken model plates which are expected to launch in May 2013.

Updated Mercedes Benz GL Class

GL Class is the luxury bug underneath the sophisticated coverings; with ample of power to outdo anything that falls underneath its pieces of rubber. It is learnt, the German carmaker is also running a promotional campaign on internet that will give audience a chance to meet the international tennis star Boris Becker, who is personally going to unveil the newbie on 16th May 2013 at Delhi. Sources from the industry also said, new GL Class will be having daytime running LED, which is now common trend on luxury bugs, Bang Olufsen music system, electronically controlled steering wheel etc, and moreover also taking lot of cues from M Class.

Updated Mercedes Benz GL Class

Mercedes Benz A Class

A Class is said to be the cheapest Merc in Indian when it will launch here, and would also set the different sort of standards for luxury horizon. Claiming itself to be the hatchback, it will boast options of 1.6L petrol and 1.8L diesel on India spec badge, being assimilated with 7 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox as a standard fitment. Right now, this German brand did not have any of the compact SUV in its kitty, but we hope this particular model plate to work in that similar way as those BMW’s and Audi’s compact rugged vehicle, due to the lot of Mercedes diehards in India. Launch slated on 30th May 2013, it will follow the CBU route in initial stage, then might be taken on CKD way to Chakan production facility in Pune at further stages.

Mercedes Benz A Class

Mercedes Benz B Class diesel variant

Alongside the A, B Class diesel will also be standing proudly, as was lacking in the segment for a long time. Thought one can say, the petrol variant of B Class hadn’t yielded those expected results in spite of being competitively priced, but a lot of expectations goes with oil burners, as it is the fastest catching trend in India. The same 30th May 2013 will too be its launching date.

Ashok Leyland Stile

Ashok Leyland was doing very well in the HCV segment but we think no automaker is completed unless and until it rolls out itself in the field of passenger vehicles, and the same case is here too with the this automaker. Unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo 2012, Stile caught attention of the automotive media due to its MPV avatar and the powerful 1.5L 3-cylinder common rail diesel, assimilated with the 5 speed manual gearbox for swift shifting. As also learnt, the initial lot will be most probably chalked out with the petrol-CNG trim, and then later on followed by the oil burners. It has a lot of space inside and expected to blow out Nissan Evalia, Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo, Maruti Ertiga and many others in this segment. A passenger carrier version will also be made available at the later stage.
