Lamborghini has launched its Aventador S LP 740-4 Coupe in India at Rs.5.01 crore. The car is essentially and leaner and meaner version of the standard Aventador. ‘S’ suffix also signifies that the car comes with an improved design, sharper styling, better aerodynamics and a retuned V12 engine that now churns out over 40bhp of additional power.
The new Lamborghini Aventador SuperVeloce Roadster has been unveiled before the world audience at the ongoing Monterey Car Week in California. Like most Lamborghini cars, this is a limited edition one and only 500 units of this will be produced eventually. Addition of the SV tag means these are the most performance oriented and fastest of Lamborghinis out there.
The car has been fitted with a powerful 6.5-liter V12 engine capable of producing a monstrous 750bhp of peak power and 690NM of torque, which is more than enough to turn this car into one of the fastest Lamborghinis out there. What helps matters more is the lightweight body of the car which only increases the power-to-weight ratio of the car. The SV Aventador Roadster comes with a dry weight of 1575kgs only – a full 50kg lighter than the Aventador Roadster. With all this power under its belly the Aventador SV Roadster zooms to 100kmph from zero in mere 2.9 seconds and can accelerate up to 350kmph.
Deliveries of these cars will begin from early 2016. All this power and speed will come to you at a price though. Each unit of these limited edition Roadsters will cost Rs.3.48 crores ($530,075).
Lamborghini is giving final shape to its much touted SUV Urus and it seems the company will launch the car somewhere around 2018. This was confirmed by Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winklemann who also said that the company is planning more than one special editions of the SUV which would include a Superveloce variant.
According to the CEO, the Urus would initially be a family car where comfort would be given top most priority without compromising on signature Lamborghini speed and performance. The production version of the Lamborghini would retain the appearance of the Urus concept, while on the inside the car would be somewhat different.
Not much is known about the Urus’s powertrain, but hybrid possibility cannot be ruled out. It is believed that it would get Audi’s 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 engine along with an electric motor which will be mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. The output of the engine is stated to be somewhere around the 600HP mark.
The Urus would be built at Lamborghini’s Sant’Agata Bolognese plant in Italy, which also happens to be the company’s headquarter. The company has already received tax breaks from the Italian government to build this vehicle.
Once launched the Lamborghini Urus will compete for market space with other SUVs such as Range Rover SV Autobiography, Maserati Levante and Bentley Bentayga.
Desc: The much talked about Lamborghini Urus SUV seems to be finally shaping for launch somewhere in 2018. This was confirmed by the company CEO Stephan Winklemann.
China always derives special treatment from the carmakers, just like the extended wheelbase versions of sedan and so on. Expectedly, this new is not too different from the given condition, and a source confirmed the People Republic will get a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine fitted inside the very muscular Audi R8 and Lamborghini Huracan.
The decision is taken by VW Group to go for this new venture in the bay as a result for the heavy taxation on bigger engine displacements in Asia. But it is very disappointing to imagine a Lamborghini Huracan with such drivetrain in place of the rowdy V10 engine.
Audi has already portrayed TT Clubsport Turbo with the 2.5-liter motor with electric boost that churns out 600PS of max power and 650NM of torque, enough to pull either of the cars with same excitement, but with smaller displacement of ‘less excitement’.
However, the fun and experience of driving a naturally aspirated engine is really out of this world, and that is even explained better by one of the top hats of Audi. As the small motors need electric boosting even after turbocharged, the weight is suffered due to the additional kerb of battery pack, which further dilutes the thrill of performance, he commented
Hence, during the recent past Audi too was compelled with the weak demand of V8 and as result it dropped it from the lineup for pushing more the bigger displacements. So, it could become possible for the maker to sell R8 with a 2.5-litre.
The fever of making a SUV hadn’t spared even the Lamborghini. Quite long in the brouhaha of industry, the Italian carmaker now finally decided to make that SUV a reality. Lamborghini, which has unveiled the Urus concept back in 2012 at Beijing Auto Show, will take cues from the said in order to keep the trait in shape as per the feedbacks garnered on the same.
However, it may sound insane for a carmaker like Lamborghini to venture into the business of SUV, but since the scope of growing here is more, it couldn’t hold back the decision. All preparation for the manufacturing had begun; with some help from the Italian government received, it has said to build a new production line, expand the R&D facility and warehousing as a part of the product development.
On the list, Urus is the third model for production at Lamborghini’s manufacturing facility in Sant’Agata Bolognese. With high expectations riding on it the maker aims to sell 3000 units of it a year, which is more than double the sales of current performance sheet.
This new Lamborghini Urus is reported to hit the sales floor of the international market by 2018.
Lamborghini named the SUV Urus after an ancestor of the cow, which somehow relates it to the logo of raging bull. The title of fastest and lightest SUV in the world is at its feet, claimed a source. After all, the extensive use of carbon fiber and dynamics taken over from the sports car experience will lead it to shed the weight and surge ahead with ease due it its edge-cutting aerodynamics. The Urus concept powered by an output of 600PS, where most of the source believed the same shall carry over. And possibly, wing mirrors on outside will get replaced by the cameras and TV screens. The bit saved for last, it will also turn out as the most eco-friendly SUV due to hybrid drivetrain which will produce lowest CO2 as compared to other SUVs in the world.
Hence, as said the competition is already in full-fledge for a luxury SUV with many other also in the development. It shall not turn surprising for the admirers to see it standing against the Bentley Bentayga, Rolls Royce SUV/crossover, Maserati Levante, Porsche Cayenne Turbo S and Audi RSQ7.
There is a fair amount of possibility that it could share the engine with Audi’s performance SUV SQR7 V10 machine. After all, both the brands are owned by same parent company. And some components are also aimed to get build at Volkswagen on the same line of Porsche Cayenne ‘to save the cost’.
As spotting a Lamborghini isn’t a rare sight in Dubai, watching it burning apparently didn’t bring the Arabs of that country to a standstill, seems they still had enough of it left. Here, the owner of this burning yellow Lamborghini Aventador has a different story to tell.
As per the reports, a yellow Aventador parked outside the luxury hotel Al Qasr went up in flames. The owner sporting denims and a T-shirt tried his every possible effort to get it off, but failed disastrously. However, some cited the unknown fault in the engine is the actual culprit behind this, but nothing is figured out officially. Giving his best shot of the life, this young rich owner was spotted dousing off the flame with a fire-extinguisher, but certainly the flames gripped underneath.
Firefighters then arrived at the spot and extinguished the flames completely. Though, after the incident, what was left at the spot was a charred carcass of the most admired Lamborghini Aventador, which turned out very disappointing to see at. Luckily, a Russian tourist filed the entire incident on the camera and it came to us via his Instagram account.
However, as standard, an Aventador uses a 6.5 litre V12 mid-rear engine which transforms the 0-100km/h in 2.9 seconds and top-speed of 349km/h. All this exquisite of zest is unleashed by the power of 700 horses and torque of 690NM.
India as a country of rich and poor both, sometimes, put up strange sight on display across the lenses. A one from the Delhi had seen the rare Lamborghini Murcielago LP670 SV crashed on the streets of national capital. The incident happened in the dead of night, around 1.15 a.m., and driver fled the scene by abandoning the cart amidst the street.
Incident took place at Copernicus Marg near Hexagon C-circle, where the car ran over a divider. The abandoned Bull now rests with Tilak Marg Police station, where the police are trying to locate the owner. The twist in this story is, this supercar wasn’t registered, no number plate found attached. Police officials are trying to locate the owner from papers found inside the cabin.
Though, a case is registered at the aforementioned police station under the Motor Vehicles Act of Section 279 IPC, which seems the rich owner had pulled this car out for a spin and rammed it due to lack of control.
Hence, such a sight is no alien to Indians, but this car was a rare example with the Super Veloce tag, which as per to a source if believed to have pinched the pocket of its owner not lesser than Rs 5 crore.
In the recent installments of report, some of them claimed Police official have dug out the truth. And it was revealed the driver behind its wheel was one of the directors of property brokerage firm called Better Option Property Mart Pvt. Ltd. The culprit is named as Gaurav Mavi, and the police are yet to arrest him.
Noting can remain hidden from the prying eyes of social media activists. The moment someone clicked Arnab Goswami besides a Lamborghini and posted on various platforms, feedbacks started flowing from across the world. Everyone’s suspicion was, did Arnab bought a Lamborghini Huracan, which as per to us wasn’t a car of his choice. A bit of spoofing here and there revealed, the supercar was actually owned by Lamborghini Mumbai. At the Bandra-Worli sea link, this Italian Raging Bull swooped past Arnab breaking the speed limits, and caused this Edition in Chief of Times Now to spring into action and connect with the top hats of traffic department.
Thus, the quick response had literally paid, and driver was fined for speeding by the traffic officials as soon as he got off the sea link.
Over the standard variant, Lamborghini introduced Super Veloce trim of Aventador LP 750-4 at Geneva Motor show 2015. To name the changes as of now on the stage before hitting the sales floor, the naturally-aspirated V12 engine is tweaked to produce 740bhp, which is approximately 50bhp more than the standard version. And with the reduced weight of 50kgs the power-to-weight ratio also gets enhanced by very effective standards. All these improvements had milked 0-100km/h sprint in a reduced time by 0.1 seconds at 2.8 seconds. Even the cabin gets signified with enormous amendments to house the reduction of weight. Improved aerodynamics returned higher downforce.
Hence, for this dynamic control, Aventador Super Veloce now holds brand new pushrod suspension with magnetic fluid-filled adaptive dampers for reduced body roll and better handling.
A last tip for the buyers, those who wished to own a one example shall keep their check books ready by the end of this year, the time when it will hit the sales floor internationally.
The riches need a reason to splurge, but they get more cautious when it comes to cars. After all, the ‘most expensive’ is an ultimate option for them. So carmakers not shying of any filth to be stopping them from selling their niche cars in this extensive market, for which rolled out a number of them during 2014. Though, we managed that hard job to find the best five of them which made way to India over the past year. Mentioned here the top-five that raised the eyeballs in terms of prices they for which were launched, and the newness they offered to buyers.
Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II
The entry-level sedan of Rolls-Royce which has found many buyers in India during the lifetime, received a facelift during 2014 with the tag of Series II. Launched at a price of Rs 4.5 crore (ex-showroom Mumbai) the car saw new headlamps with daytime running lights, redesigned bumpers, fresh bonnet design and reworked tail lamps. The front air intakes do get chrome lining, whereas the range of selecting alloys have been widened with numerous other options. In fact, the cabin entertainment too got enhanced by the brand new infotainment system featured on those 10.2-inch screens and touch-pad controller. Power remains constant at 563bhp from a 6.6-litre V12 engine.
Lamborghini’s new baby car for India after the end of Gallardo, Huracan, was made to foray for a price of Rs 3.43 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). Though, this baby Bull of Italy ventured into the tradition of using a bombastic V10 engine for producing matured amount of 602bhp, with the electronically capped top-speed of 325kmph and 0-100kmph in 3.2 seconds. However, the cabin too is enough for housing only two at a time, both can travel in ultimate speed with the expertise of jet plane on steering, as well as at the passenger’s seat. For India, Lamborghini had added a special function of lifting up the nose by 40mm over the standard ground clearance for road conditions of this country.
Range Rover Long Wheelbase And Autobiography Edition
Range Rover which was already long enough to fit a King in its rear, now gets longer with more 186mm of wheelbase, where out of the whole 140mm is added for the rear seat only. The long-wheelbase edition can be easily identified from the size of rear doors where they comparatively appear bigger than before. So, those wishing to end their drive in the lap of luxury and also admit their vehicle shall be rugged and must take on the every terrain, surely this is the right option to choose from. Even getting more exclusive, buyers are given to choose from a bench and executive seats for the rear passenger. Large panoramic sunroof and 17-degree reclining seat at rear are standard on all the variants. Top of the line Autobiography Black edition takes the cake away, where subtle changes on outer paves way for the exclusive buyout. The 10.2-inch screen, massage rear seat, chiller compartment, special leather for seats, LED ambient light to suit the mood are some of the examples which its owners will experience. For the price tag of anything between Rs 2.08 crore and Rs 2.63 crore (launch price ex-showroom Delhi) it hits the nail on its head with options of petrol and diesel both. Former set of buyers (of petrol) can get the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 petrol of 510PS and 625Nm of torque. The 4.4-litre V8 diesel will send power of 339PS grunting over the 700Nm of torque. Another starting variant of diesel gets the base price stuck with its 3.0-litre mill. However, they say, the engine options are standard as of the stock Range Rover.
Jaguar F-Type Coupe
The success of Jaguar F-Type speaks about itself. Thoughtfully, the company has played smartly with this model, as launched the convertible first and then brought the hardtop called as F-Type Coupe later. Launched for the price of Rs 1.21 crore, it goes upto the max level of Rs 1.82 crore ex-showroom Mumbai. We loved this car just because of its Wild Cat-ish looks. But for the adrenaline lovers, British automaker had lent it number of options which sound like a music to the ears. Power of 340PS is just the standard for this coupe from a supercharged 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine, whereas the slightly more powerful version called F-Type S delivers 40PS more than the said, and the result is 380PS. The top of line uses a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 for the staggering 550PS and 680Nm of torque. Wholly, the range topping also differs on the equipment level with 20-inch wheels as against the 18-inch of the said two. Top-speed of the range topper is clocked at 300kmph with 0-100kmph being touched in 4.2 seconds. The S trim of 380PS successfully delivers 275kmph of max-speed and 0-100kmph in 4.8 seconds.
Aston Martin Rapide S
Though, this launch happened in the last week of 2013, but this car turned towards 2014 for getting delivered into the hands of buyers. A family sports sedan with 4-passenger seating capacity, this turns out to be monstrous when led unchained on the open racetrack. The model already exists in the country back from 2011, but the addition of ‘S’ to the badge makes it worthy for a price of Rs 4.4 crore ex-showroom Mumbai. Now it enjoys a healthy power output of 550bhp (from 470bhp) and 619Nm of torque (against the 600Nm) with the traction being sent by a 6-speed AZ automatic transmission. One couldn’t deny its opulence of being a proper four-seater with the right balance of luxury and healthy sports characteristics. Wished, it could be in everyone’s wish list if desiring to shell out the tag of something more than Rs 4 crore.
