The new 2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport has been launched in India, which will add new features to the entry level SUV.
Land Rover has started accepting bookings for the fifth-generation Discovery. The car goes on sale in November 2017 with prices starting from Rs.68.05 lakh. The new Discovery made its global debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The styling of the model incorporates design elements like a stepped roofline and short overhangs.
The new Range Rover SV Autobiography has been launched in India and its flagship variant is now availale at all JLR dealerships in India. Priced at 2.79 crore. With graphite Atlas accents and red brenbo brake calipers the exteriors boast of a new alloy wheel design as well.
After having knocked out some 6,00,000 Range Rover Evoque in just six years, with a finished model rolling off the production line every 170 seconds, Land Rover has launched a Landmark edition to mark the occasion.
The bookings for the facelifted Range Rover Evoque SUV have been opened by Jaguar Land Rover in India with the car being all set to be launched next month.
Powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine that delivers 187 bhp of power, the Evoque comes mated to a nine speed automatic transmission and this will see no update in the upcoming edition.
What will change though is the looks, with a new front bumper, new grill, a new alloy wheel design as well as enlarged air intakes. The rear end too will now have a new tailgate spoiler as well as LED adaptive headlamps and an LED stoplight. The car will also have new door casings, new seats and will be available in multiple colour options.
In terms of additional features, the Evoque will have the new 8.0 inch infotainment system from Land Rover as well as a new TFT display on the instrument panel. The car will also have All-Terrain Progress Control (ATPC), which is a brand new addition and has been seen first on the Range Rover. Off roading too will be a treat with the car as it has tons of additional safety features which include emergency braking, lane keeping assist as well as a warning for drowsy drivers.
The car is assembled locally and is priced starting Rs.49.2 lakh. It is targeting the high end SUV segment here in India and will look to catch the attention of adventure lovers across the country.
The rugged gets expensive. Range Rover, the emblem of off-road, is now launched in the most luxurious form across India for an expensive price tag of Rs 3.75 crore (diesel). The petrol version falls at Rs 3.85 crore, where all the aforementioned prices are ex-showroom Delhi.
Dubbed as Autobiography Black edition, Range Rover with these most desirable trims on board is based on the long-wheelbase version. The first glimpse caught by the world was at Los Angeles Auto Show in 2013.
As falling for this very niche price tag, Autobiography Black edition means serious business of luxury inside the cabin, but it doesn’t means outer shell is deprived of unique matters. The distinct finish on front grille, 21 or 22 inch alloy wheels of aluminium and gloss finish, chrome strip on tail gate and redesigned tail lamps are there to name.
Talking the actual business, cabin of Autobiography Black Range Rover is draped in leather on every detail. It is the front passenger who enjoys massage function, where the driver can experience special treatment in its seat by means of 18-way adjustment. Rear passengers now can lie in the lap of luxury far better than the standard Range Rover due to extended wheelbase. Lumber massage function, calf rest and more reclining angle than before add worth to it.
Buyers can choose between a 4.4-litre SDV8 diesel engine of 335bhp and 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol of 503bhp. Both machines come along with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Hence, Range Rover Autobiography Black Edition is the most expensive SUV available in India.
The time where numerous amount of money is spent on design and the development of a new product and more of them are splurged to sell them and develop a market for such fresh traits, it sounds very distracting to hear the imitation of Range Rover Evoque got a green flag to enter the production in China. The product called LandWind X7 was unveiled at Guangzhou Motor Show last year, and now it even witnessed the Shanghai Motor show. This time, the vehicle receives acceptance from the authorities to go into the production, claimed a source.
As per the reports, LandWind X7 bears a price tag of £14,000, where in comparison the Range Rover Evoque retails for £40,000. However, this vast difference between both of them will ravel hampering of quality as well as power. To our expectations, the LandWind SUV will remain as a good option from traveling from point A to B, rather than experiencing the thrill of a Range Rover behind its steering wheel. Yet, the maker has tried to push hard the limits and bring the new vehicle with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine sending 190.6PS of max power and 250Nm of peak torque. Transmission options available are 6-speed manual and an 8-speed automatic.
To answer In brief what the LandWind is about, it is a joint venture between Changan Auto and Jiangling Motors Corporation, who are listed as some of the most renowned companies in China. Commenting on this strategic disturbance, Dr. Ralf Speth, CEO of JLR said, as an organization JLR invested hugely in the Chinese market in joint venture with the Chery. The commitment is laid out on a clear business plan which allows the organization to hit the sales targets on clear prices. If anything that comes into way and damages the potential profitability of the manufacturing facility, it will also damage the integrity of the said plans.
Thus, the worries may surround other carmakers as well. After all, such a move in the land of China will strengthen the efforts of copy and fakes business house holders to further clone more successful models of the auto world.
Apparently, New York Motor show has sliced more oncoming truth of the automotive industry than the Geneva Motor show. Another from the haystack of such inclinations, a media house from Australia was found saying, Range Rover is in the process of developing a SUV positioned between Evoque and Sport. The gap between these two is quite wide, and a new product will comfortably sit there without a hick.
As per the report, Evoque may share its platform in the modified format with this newbie. This new SUV will aim buyers who wish to go for a vehicle larger than the Evoque but not as big as Sport, with five seats.
Gerry McGovern, Director of Design, Land Rover, said, there are several white space in lineup which can turn out good opportunities if hit them rightly. Chances are most likely for this model to debut on the sales floor in international markets during 2018, whereby the concept will shed its cover at the earliest in these coming years.
Went specifying further Mr. McGovern also confirmed there is something special stored for the Frankfurt Motor Show from Land Rover this year in September. Apparently, it could be the Range Rover Evoque Cabriolet ready for the production trim.
