The Indian Car of the Year award went to the Ford Figo however there were many other awards in December 2010 and behind the scenes. For their environmental management, Skoda Auto India, Aurangabad received a silver awards from Greentech foundation. Mr Rakesh Shrivastava, IAS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Shipping and Government of India gave this award to Mr. Thomas Kuehl, Director and Board member of Skoda Auto India.
The particular Skoda Auto India dealership at Aurangabad was selected amongst the 300 participating dealerships from other manufacturers. The gold went to General Motors Halol plant. This is the third time that this plant has won the award. Speaking of General Motors, in a fourth time in a row, actually from the time it was introduced in India, the small car Chevrolet Spark has won the JD Power Asia-Pacific 2010 award for best quality. Amongst the Indian compact cars, it has been ranked the highest in the 2010 JD Power survey. It may be recollected that JD Power Asia-Pacific is an international marketing information firm specializing in training, research, customer satisfaction and also consultancy services for many of the industries.
