BMW X7 Dark Shadow Edition Launched In India: Priced At Rs 2.02 Crore

BMW India has launched the X7 Dark Shadow limited-edition SUV in the country. The X7 Dark Shadow is priced at Rs 2.02 crore, ex-showroom (India). The company will be making only 500 units of the X7 Dark Shadow for the world.

The limited-edition premium SUV can be ordered online on the brand’s website. The X7 Dark Shadow is nearly 90 lakhs more than the top-end variant of the standard X7 available in the Indian market.

The X7 Dark Shadow SUV is being produced at the BMW’s plant in Spartanburg USA from August 2020. As a result, the limited-edition premium SUV arrives at the Indian shores as a (CBU) Completely Built-Up unit.

The BMW X7 Dark Shadow is based on the M50d variant of the standard X7 SUV model. However, the limited-edition variant features a host of cosmetic upgrades inside and out that are picked out from the brand’s ‘Individual’ customisation range and M Sport range of accessories.

The highlight of the X7 Dark Shadow Edition will be the Frozen Arctic Grey metallic paint scheme from BMW Individual, which is the brand’s high-level personalisation program. This particularly high-quality and elaborate body finish is being used for the first time in a BMW X model.

Along with the new paint scheme, the covers of the B and C pillars feature the High Gloss Shadow Line finish. Additionally, other trims such as the brand’s signature kidney grille, the air breathers and the tailpipe covers of the exhaust system are finished in black chrome.

Other exterior changes include a gloss black roof rail and a protection glazing sunroof. The Dark Shadow features aerodynamically optimised bodywork elements of the M sports package as well. This includes different bumpers, air dam, side skirts and 22-inch M light-alloy wheels in V-spoke design with a Jet Black matt finish shod with performance tyres. It also comes with the M sports exhaust system.

The X7 Dark Shadow is offered in a six-seat configuration as standard. Inside, the trims continue to feature bits borrowed from the M Sport package. This includes an M-spec leather-wrapped steering wheel and a two-tone Merino full leather upholstery.

The rest of the features on the limited-edition model will be carried over from the standard model of the X7. This includes a premium 16 speakers audio system from Harman Kardon, 12.3-inch touchscreen display and 12.3-inch fully-digital instrument console with BMW Live Cockpit Professional, BMW Head-Up Display and the list goes on.

The BMW X7 Dark Shadow is powered by the 3.0-litre twin-turbo diesel six-cylinder engine. It produces a maximum of 394bhp and a peak torque of 760Nm. The engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox with power sent to all four wheels via the brand’s xDrive system. The car accelerates from 0 -100 km/hr in just 5.4 seconds. The top speed of the SUV is electronically limited to 250kmph. The X7 Dark Shadow also features an adaptive 2-axle air suspension that enables the raising and lowering of the vehicle at the touch of a button. It automatically adjusts the height of the car to suit any given driving situation as well.
