Brabus Tuned Mercedes-Benz GLA Revealed

Brabus cannot restrain itself from tuning the Mercedes. And not the least, even the smallest of SUVs, the GLA, too got tuning list from the German tuner.

Brabus confirmed of introducing the package in both styling and performance updates. Available for the GLA-Class in Standard, Style and Urban specifications, we are quite interested what the tuner will do to a class of 2.0-liter four cylinder engine when it had his hands well-versed with the guises of V6s, V8s and so on.

On the official note, Brabus offers the ECO PowerXtra D3 kit for the common-rail turbodiesel engine of Mercedes GLA 220 CDI which adds 41PS (40hp) to the power output, and totals the output at 210PS (208hp) and a peak torque of 410 Nm (302 lb-ft). In return, the tuned GLA 220 CDI grosses sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 8 seconds and scorches to a top speed of 220 km/h (137 mph).

On the flipside, for the four-cylinder gasoline (petrol) engine, Brabus held on offer the PowerXtra modules, culminating with the PowerXtra CGI B45 tuning kit for the GLA 45 AMG. The kit enhances peak power to 400PS (394hp) and torque to 500 Nm (369 lb-ft). So, it can be surely said, the 0-100 km/h will take just 4.4 seconds (0.4 s faster) and the top speed to grasp clocking of 270 km/h (168 mph) on the odo without breaking a sweat.

Coming to the style, off-road highlights includes options of alloy wheels ranging from 18 to 21 inches.

On the front, elements are designed electrifyingly which seems one more spoiler is added to the section, and the air intake on the sides of bumper added whirls to the performance factor. On the rear a spoiler is added, where the bumper has inserts that implicates mimics like that of the front apron. Stainless-steel sport exhaust with four tailpipes completes the styling package.

For the driving rooster, the suspension kit added underneath by Brabus raises height of the GLA 30mm (1.2 inches) for going off-road, while for a more dynamic handling spring lowers the height by about 25 mm (1 inch).

In interiors, Brabus had said to offer bi-color stainless-steel scuff plates with Brabus logo (also available with optional lighting), matt-anodized aluminum pedals, door-lock pins and Race aluminum shift paddles.
