DC2 (Dilip Chhabria Design) To Launch Iconic Ambassador As Amby Electric Vehicle

Ambassador was one of the iconic four-wheelers in the country. Ambassador was the symbol of status in the country much earlier and was one of the most comfortable cars. Ambassador was the car used by all the renowned people such as politicians. DC Design, now rebranded as DC2, has reimagined the iconic Hindustan Ambassador as an electric concept, which will make it to production soon. We will soon get to see Ambassador in a new Avatar and it will be named as Amby.

DC Design – now known as DC2, is known for some of its breathtaking designs. Time and again, the company has showcased some very exciting concepts, while customized vanity vans and cars continue to remain popular with the elite in India and overseas. Now, DC2 has showcased an all-new concept that brings back the iconic Ambassador in a completely new avatar. And it’s not just the design that’s changed, this iteration of the Amby is all-electric.

The company has released images of the electric Amby (e-Amby). And it looks quite futuristic with curvaceous stance, bonded glasses and subtle use of chrome. Compared to the original model, the DC customized electric Ambassador is 170mm longer and 125mm wider.

Powertrain details are still under the wraps. Though, the company has confirmed that the electric Ambassador will accelerate 0 to 100kmph in about 4 seconds. It will offer an electric range of around 250km in a full charge. The battery pack will be fitted in the floor area, thus lowering the centre of gravity. There will be electric motors for each wheel.

We surely are waiting for this iconic car to make a comeback. Do let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
