Ford EcoSport is one of the most awaited vehicles from the automaker Ford. The SUV has been developed as part of Ford’s Global product development process that will allow this car to remain similar in almost all markets. What makes this SUV special is its award winning 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine. This engine churns out a power that is equal to a 1.6 litre engine. But now the reports are out which suggests that the vehicle that is soon to be revealed in China will not be featuring the same engine. Instead of that the vehicle will be featuring 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that will deliver about 110 horses. This is quite shocking news from Ford and is sure to affect the sales.

The likely reason for the replacement is Ford’s inability to assemble engine in China. Chinese government has imposed heavy taxes on the import of the automobile components, so if Ford plans to assemble engine in China the cost of the vehicle will rise. However, Ford is planning to setup new an engine plant at china, so we can hope for EcoBoost engine in near future. Ford is planning to bring Ford EcoSport in India by early 2013.
