Just days before the Union Budget 2012-13, Ford has introduced the 2012 lineup of Fiesta with a mouth-watering price. Ford has cut prices of the 2011 Fiesta up to Rs 1 lakh.

The price tag of the entry level Ford Fiesta sits at about Rs 7.23 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Moreover, the number of variants available in showroom is narrowed to just four, two each in petrol and diesel. With each powerplant is mated a five-speed manual gearbox. Though the prices have been trimmed down, the Fiesta petrol dumped all the variants and will now be available in only in the newly launched Ambiente trim along with Titanium+. As for the diesel variants, only Style and Titanium+ will be offered.

Ford had recently declared price hike due to rise in input cost, but with this step, just before the Union budget, the company plans to attract more potential customers.

However, Ford suggests that the price drop should not bee deemed as a strip down of the Fiesta with less safety. The entry level varian of Fiesta offers ABS, driver airbags, driver seat height adjustment, guide-me-home headlamps and other features common to the C-segment.

The petrol powerplant 1.5L Ti-VCT offers 16.86 kmpl. While the diesel 1.5L Duratorq TDCi offers 23.5 kmpl. Moreover, the automatic 1.5L Ti-VCT gives a fuel economy figure of 16.97 kmpl.
