‘Great Wall Motors (GWM) may set up a plant in India’, was rendering in the industry since last year but now the carmaker had officially confirmed to start operations here till 2016. Previously, the Chinese automaker was considering Gujarat and Tamil Nadu for the set up, but hopefully Maharashtra won the league amongst all. Specifically, the plant is said to dig its foot in the land of Pune where major of carmakers are present from long back. The incentive scheme and the lucrative aura in the soil of Maharashtra, being provided by the local Government, coveted the carmaker to land its machinery in this particular state. The inner market study is already completed, and in a couple of months organization may reveal its investment and further details to the media. We also learnt that the officials of GWM were there in India and were carrying out the processes of link-up with government officials and all.

Furthermore, the first product of GWM on Indian shores will be the globally acclaimed SUV “Haval H5”. And we are also hoping that carmaker may claim some more at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo.

Haval H5
Not much known off the tip, but learnt that Great Wall Motors had ruled out tie ups with any of the car brands here, and will set up the things on its whole. It is the eight largest carmaker of China where we can expect something cost efficient in this highly competitive market from the badge. SUV is the best medium to judge further taste of Indian audience.

Till further confirmation arrives, let’s keep our fingers crossed!
