Honda to assemble new CR-V in India

Honda gained much of the market share with new CR-V. It changed the structure of Indian car industry with its launch. This one was actually a highly powered sedan in the SUV skin, and for the first time it was rolled out for commons. Later on, the other car manufacturers also unleashed their big junkies. As days passes by, now this Japanese Sports Utility stands at the 4th generation.

As the launch is getting closer, many updates are sprouting from the grass root level. New Honda will come in the competitive price as the old ones were in the range of 22.91 lakh to 25.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). They used to come directly from Japan. The reduction in price tags will be gained by manufacturing the vehicle in India itself. We expect Noida production facility for the same. However, the Company didn’t gave the confirmation of CKD strategy but we assume it to be revealed in this February.

Fourth Generation of the Honda’s SUV will be powered with a 2.0 liter and 2.4 liter powertrains just like its predecessor. Expectations of a diesel jag for this one is also strong.  new CR-V always dominated the segment. It is the one who made a path for others to roll in. Toyota Fortuner has now captured the domain with its diesel burner which reduced the running cost most probably by 25%. Other competitors like Hyundai Santa Fe, Renault Koleos, GM Captiva and Mitsubishi Outlander also pose themselves in the 18-25 lakh range.

Luxury cars like BMW and Audi are also selling hot on diesel variants. To guzzle a lot of power, SUVs need a tremendous amount of fuel. With the unending rising prices, people now prefer a diesel to save a lot on their pocket. To an extent, X1 and Q3 can also be assumed as its competitors.

Sadly, only 186 CR-Vs rolled out in this FY. Thus, the carmaker hauled its retailing in September.
