Hyundai Cars To Get A Price Hike From January 2020

Hyundai is one of the most popular automobile brands in the country. Currently it stands second in terms of Market share, just behind Maruti Suzuki India. Hyundai’s Cars are very popular and some of their cars have managed to stay in top 10 best selling cars list consistently. But there’s some bad news for all the Hyundai lovers. Hyundai Motor India has announced a hike  in prices of models across its range of hatchbacks, sedans and SUVs, effective from January 2020.

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HML) has announced a price hike across its product portfolio, effective from the start of next year. All Hyundai cars, including Elite i20, Grand i10, Creta, Venue, Xcent, Verna, etc will get price hike.

The company has not shared the exact hike figure for its 2019 units, but has confirmed that it will depend on the vehicle segment. Simply put, the price hike for the Hyundai Santro will be much less compared to that of Creta. The price hike is expected to start from Rs 10,000.

Hyundai India currently sells 12 models across various segments, With more than 500 dealers and 1300 service outlets across the span of India, Hyundai is one of the most popular choices among the people in the country.

High input and materials costs has become the main reason for a price hike, The updated BS6 emission norms will come into effect from the start of April 2020 and major manufacturers  have been busy switching their portfolio to the new norms. Hence these are the main reasons for the price hike, while many other manufacturers are also planning to hike the price.

Do you think other manufacturers will also increase their prices? Do share your thoughts in the comments below.
