Hyundai has launched its first all-electric car in India. Called Kona, the electric SUV has been priced at Rs.25.30 lakhs and has been brought to India as a completely knocked down unit with some bit of localisation to keep the price in check. Design wise, the Hyundai Kona looks like any other conventionally powered model with the only big difference, being lack of a front grille and an exhaust.
Other design features includes LED head and taillights, roof rails and plastic body cladding. On the inside, the car gets heads-up display, 7.0-inch digital dashboard, automatic climate control, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and wireless charging.
The car is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor producing a peak power of 136HP and a peak torque of 395Nm. It has a range of 452Km on a full charge of its battery. The car can do 0 to 100kmph in about 9.7 seconds.
