Hyundai Named New Compact SUV As Creta

Comfortable, easy to drive and more like sedans; compact SUVs are the next big thing for India. Ford who broke the ice with its EcoSport against the hatchback segment will soon find a rival from Hyundai entering the country. Before that, the Korean carmaker decided to give the audience a shot of excitement. As confirmed, the SUV that Hyundai will soon venture with is named as ‘Creta’ rather than ix25, which it tagged earlier. From now onwards, the carmaker had confirmed to use Creta for the model across the globe.Hyundai Named New Compact SUV As Creta

However, the launch of Hyundai Creta is not at a distant, as reported it will see the daylight here during 2015. That’s not all. It is speculated to measure 4.27 metres in length, which means the same will not withstand the likes of Ecosport, as not fallen under the sub-4 metre category in order to save the tax. Rather the likes of Renault Duster, Mahindra Scorpio, Maruti S-Cross must better take care, because the marketers have aimed to plot it somewhere between Rs 12-14 lakh.

Now, taking to the engine, Hyundai had positioned it in the slightly premium category as compared to the segment’s standards, so a 1.6-litre diesel with 126bhp will suit it better. The petrol motor of same displacement (1.6-litre) too will arrive at a later stage with 121bhp on offer. The former option is expected to use a six-speed manual, while the auto transmission may follow the league later on. On the other side, petrol engine will use a five-speed manual to drive the sales.
