Indian Government to gift over 630 Mahindra vehicles to Nepal

Mahindra has been awarded a prestigious order by the Government of India (GOI) for a fleet of over 630 vehicles. These would be purchased by the GOI for gifting to the Government of Nepal as a support for the upcoming Constitutional Assembly elections and will be delivered to the Election Commission in Nepal and the Home Ministry. The elections are planned to be held in Nepal on November 19, 2013.

This fleet of vehicles is a symbol of support from the Indian Government to strengthen security during the election period. These Mahindra vehicles would be utilized by the Security Forces, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and as part of the convoy.

“For Mahindra, it’s an absolute moment of pride that we have been chosen by the Government of Nepal to strengthen India-Nepal ties and enable one of the most important hallmarks in the history of Nepal, the Constituent Assembly elections which are to be held in November 2013. We also offer our weekend MUV model, the Quanto and now our electric car the E2O. Mahindra has found a long term and strong partnership in Agni Incorporated Pvt Ltd. headed by Cabinet Shrestha. This partnership has brought strong support, market understanding, a wide sales and service network and growth over the past 22 years of our partnership. This can be seen not only in the confidence that customers have in the Mahindra brand, but also the trust and responsibility that the Government of Nepal has reposed in us.”, added Irani.

According to Cabinet Shrestha of Agni Incorporated Pvt Ltd., “With this remarkable order we have been honoured by our country and its government. We are extremely proud that Mahindra vehicles would be part of this most important event in our country, the Constituent Assembly elections. It is a national honor for both countries, as well as Mahindra and Agni.”
