Interiors of Maruti YL1 sedan captured

Maruti Suzuki, the largest car maker in India, is launching a new sedan which will succeed the Maruti SX4. This car has been named as YL1 and will be launched in the second half of 2014. The car is using the Ertiga platform which basically is a modified Swift platform.  The new sedan YL1 is borrows its designing from the Suzuki’s authentic S concept which was presented at the Shanghai Motor Show in April 2013. The styling of YL1 is simple but the overall package is very neat and appealing.

This upcoming sedan is dimensionally similar to the Volkswagen Vento and is claiming to have the most spacious interior in its class. The car cabin is highly inspired by the Maruti Dzire with the top region of the dashboard showing black finishing and the lower portion shows beige finishing. The car’s rear shows a smaller floor hump which indicates that the 5th passenger will also have ample space.

The car on the outside gets heavily chromed grille and it seems like the head lights have been borrowed from the Mercedes Benz E class. The car is standing on all alloy wheels. It looks similar to the 16 spoke design as seen in the Kizashi. The top end variants of this sedan will have 16 inch alloy wheels with 195 section tires.

Talking about the steering wheel it seems to be borrowed from the Ertiga or Swift and shows same audio controls mounted on the steering wheel. A surprising element is that the steering wheel is completely black while the rest of the car interior is having dual tone beige finishing unlike Ertiga which shows a beige black dual toned steering wheel. There is also a second set of buttons which seems like a Bluetooth control for the mobile phones.
