It’s Official: Ford EcoSport Garners 30,000 Bookings in Just 17 Days

Faced the challenging yet jaw dropping geometry on drawing board, Ford EcoSport had finally posted flying colors with 30,000 bookings being received in just 17 days.

Though earlier there were some news about the ‘assumed bookings’ of same in the industry and we also posted an article with 25,000 figures, but now the official data in a ‘press release’ is claiming 30K entries received during the afore mentioned period.

Lending a comment for this overwhelming response, Joginder Singh, President and Managing Director, Ford India said, “We had high expectations of the Ford EcoSport and the unabated response post the launch has been truly gratifying. Consumers are appreciating the value-for-money proposition that we are offering in the EcoSport’s compelling and smart package. We thank our customers for their overwhelming response and appreciate their patience. The Ford India team is working closely with the suppliers at our Chennai facility to enhance output of the EcoSport to reduce the waiting period and to meet the high demand.”

Stating the sales center specifically Ford had claimed, they had 260 customer touch points spread throughout the country via 138 cities, out of which 40% of them falls in Tier II and Tier III criteria.

Launch made on 26th June 2013, EcoSport boasts the price tag of Rs. 5.59 lakh for base 1.5L petrol version, and Rs. 6.69 lakh for base 1.5L diesel version ex-showroom Delhi. The compact SUV of the Blue Oval badge conveys variants in 10 trims where the globally acclaimed yet award winner 1.0L petrol aspirated EcoBoost engine is also launched on our local shores.
