But today Mahindra had bestowed us with a completely different story which was flurrying in their pipeline for a long time, as learnt, the Mahindra Adventure wing had finally launched off-road training academy in India, it is a first of its kind here, and has a various form of courses to make participants learn the rugged tricks ranging from basics to a professional globe trotter under his AWD guise.

Situated at Igatpuri, the training academy is spread over an arena of 28 acre and is a one-stop solution to learn every off-road driving aspect, taught through the means of their own customized Mahindra Thar 4×4 vehicle, this metal is also being engulfed with radio sets and such.

Naming to their courses, it is chalked out as

  • Basic (Getting Dirty)
  • Intermediate (Trail Survivor)
  • Expert (Global Explorer)
  • Depending on the course selected, participants will get a chance to face nuances of
  • 4WD theory (part-time 4WD/full-time 4WD)
  • Components of a 4WD system
  • Off-roading do’s and don’ts
  • Use of off-road equipment
  • Terrain-specific driving techniques
  • Emergency repairs
