Today Mahindra Ssangyong has rolled out its much awaited sport utility vehicle, the Rexton W, in India.
Revealed at this year’s Busan Motor Show, the Rexton W turns the first vehicle from the Korean maker for the Indian market and will challenge premium sport utility vehicles comprising the Ford Endeavour, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Toyota Fortuner in addition to the Chevrolet Captiva.
The main up gradations to the newly launched 7-seater Rexton W comprise projector head lights, daytime light-emitting diode lights, innovative bumpers, unified headlamps and light-emitting diode indicators.
The new sport utility vehicle also bags black treatment around the bottom together with blazed up wheel arches.
The Mahindra Ssangyong Rexton will be offered in two different variants – RX5 and RX7. The RX5 will come fitted with a 5-speed manual transmission and will be sold at Rs.17.67 lacs, while the RX5 will have automatic E-Tronic transmission and will be priced at Rs.19.67 lacs.
The Rexton W will be powered by 2.7-liter engine in two different tunes – one will have a peak power of 165PS and a peak torque of 340Nm, while another will have 186PS and 402Nm.
With the aim to generate hype around the first appearance, an internet site for the sport utility vehicle, http://www.ssangyongrexton.in has also been introduced.
Before its launch today, the Korean auto manufacturer had introduced teaser videos of the SUV with the punch line ‘coming shortly’ for the last two days on the said internet site.
The Rexton W has been introduced crosswise the country in a phased way.
After today’s launch in the Mumbai market, it will instantly be made accessible in metropolitan cities of the national capital and Bangalore.
