Good news for every Maruti Celerio lover! On first anniversary of the car, its maker confirmed the AMT for ZXi variant. The car that stole the show at Delhi Auto Expo with its 5-speed AMT transmission was earlier available only with the base LXi and VXi trims. Now, giving it away with the top-end variant as well, it has filled the quench of buyers who wished to enjoy every comfort on-board with the ease of AMT transmission.

However, the price isn’t confirmed yet, which we expect an announcement shall follow soon.

Against the VXi variant, ZXi in comparison gains body coloured handles, outside mirrors with integrated turn indicators, 2-DIN music system with Bluetooth, AUX, USB, MP3 and 4-speakers. A keyless entry system, dual front airbags, tilt-adjustment for steering with mounted controls, and a rear wiper/washer are some other advancement which the top-end buyers enjoy.

On a safer side, maker too provides ABS, fog lamps, alloy wheels and seat height adjustment (only for driver) just in case the disappointment may not follow buyers.

Hence, power is sent by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder K-Series petrol engine producing peak power of 68PS and 90Nm of max torque. The fuel-efficiency is rated at 23.1 kmpl, which is more than enough for a car as big as this when driven on petrol. Speculations of a diesel Celerio also goes very strong in the market, but it is a game of wait-and-watch to see how long Maruti will take to bring that to the market with its new 800cc three-cylinder diesel engine.
