Maruti Discontinues Diesel Ignis In India

Maruti Suzuki has silently discontinued the Maruti Ignis diesel here in India. No official announcement in this regard has been made, but Maruti dealers are no longer accepting bookings for the Ignis diesel.

The Ignis has been highly successful in India since it was introduced in January 2017 as it offered automatic manual transmission in both petrol and diesel versions. Since then the car has been clocking around 4000 unit sales a month on an average.

But if we go by latest Maruti figures, the car has witnessed sharp drop in sales in recent months and that may be the reason why Maruti has taken the decision to withdraw the diesel Ignis from the market.
