Details of the Baleno have been leaked prior to its launch and this has been generating quite a bit of buzz for the car which is going to be Maruti Suzuki’s latest premium hatchback offering.

The Baleno is to be available in four variants. This includes the Sigma, Zeta, Alpha and Delta. Sigma being the base model will come with fewer features while the Delta comes with a music system and power windows.

The Zeta variant also has leather wrap, LED DRLs, auto headlamps, telescopic adjustment for steering and alloy wheels as well. This is likely to be most popular as the Alpha variant just adds the projector headlamps and rear parking sensors to the Zeta model.

The Baleno is to be available in both diesel as well as petrol options. The petrol will be the 1.2-litre VVT engine which will deliver 83bhp in terms of power as well as 115Nm in terms of torque. The petrol edition will come with a five speed manual transmission option as well as a four speed automatic option. The diesel engine is likely to be a 75bhp producing 1.3 litre mill with a VGT turbo option also possible which will deliver 90bhp in terms of power.

The Baleno will be sold through the NEXA dealerships and it is being believed that bookings have already begun at a cost of Rs.25000 with delivery to be prior to Diwali in order to meet the festive spirit.
