Maruti Suzuki XL6 2022 Launched | What’s New?

Maruti has launched the latest Maruti Suzuki XL6 2022. Learn all about this new release and read details including specifications, pricing and more.

The 2022 XL6 has been launched at a starting price of Rs 11.29 Lakhs and the top-end variant is priced at Rs 14.55 Lakhs (ex-showroom). The updated model majorly receives mechanical updates over the cosmetics. The new XL6 gets a new engine and an all-new gearbox, which was due for quite some time now.

The XL6 now gets an upgraded 1.5 L petrol engine with Dual Jet technology, like the other recent Suzuki launches. The Dual Jet technology helps this engine in achieving better driveability and fuel efficiency due to the dual injectors per cylinder. The power figures however have seen a slight dip, as the engine now produces 103 HP & 136.8 Nm of torque.

Despite the drop in figures, Maruti Suzuki claims this engine will continue to offer the driving thrill of the previous motor. The new engine also gets a smart hybrid system with a start-stop function, further improving fuel efficiency.

The major highlight of this new model, Maruti Suzuki XL6 2022, would be the introduction of the torque converter automatic gearbox. The use of one, is far more exciting than the new engine, as previously the Ertiga & XL6 were being offered with the not-so-smooth AMT automatic gearboxes. Now, the XL6 gets a 4-Speed Torque Converter Automatic gearbox, which helps the XL6 shift gears quickly and smoothly. What makes the drive more enjoyable on the new XL6 is the presence of the paddle shifters.

Maruti Suzuki claims the XL6 can deliver a fuel efficiency of 20.97 Km/L with the 5-Speed Manual & 20.27 Km/L with the new automatic gearbox.

What’s further improved in the XL6 is the addition of new features. The new model receives front ventilated seats, telescopic adjustment for the steering wheel, ambient lighting, tyre-pressure monitoring system, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels & the Full LED headlamps. The XL6 also gets a 7.0-inch touchscreen operated infotainment system, which the brand calls Smart Playpro.

With respect to the safety features, it gets four airbags as standard, a 360-degree reverse parking camera, ESP & Hill Assist.

The XL6 is also offered on Maruti Suzuki’s subscription model at a monthly cost of Rs 24,599, which is inclusive of all the costs of maintenance, insurance, and other expenses. The XL6 is launched in three trims, Zeta, Alpha & Alpha+.

The XL6 rivals the Kia Carens, Mahindra Marazzo, and its own sibling the Ertiga. The Marazzo in this segment gets an edge of still offering a diesel powertrain. The pricing of the new XL6 has increased more than before but so has the feature list. Priced between Rs 11.29-14.55 Lakhs (ex-showroom), it will rival directly the mid variants of the Kia Carens.
