Right before unveiling at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, Mini has revealed its latest 2013 John Cooper Works Countryman. This new crossover is deemed to be extremely powerful with an engine which gives a peak output of 218 HP. This output makes it hit 60mph from zero in merely 7 seconds with a capability to reach the top speed of 140mph in its manual version. The current powerful version of the Countryman vehicle, the Countryman S, has a 177 HP turbocharged 1.6 Liter engine. Comparing the current and the new one, there is no doubtthat the new one will take the market by storm.
The crossover can easily be distinguished from theearlier Countryman because of its aerodynamic John Cooper Works Kit. This includes much more muscular fronts and rear and bespoke side skirts. A New set of 18 inch Twin Spoke light alloy wheels with polished spoke fronts and black rim wells. The John Cooper Works logo on the radiator grille, tailgates, door sill strips, and near the side indicators. Although the customers can choose from a variety of seven colors for the exterior, including light white and Jet black,the car will come finished in Chili Red, incorporated with a contrasting paint finish for the roof and exterior mirrors. As an option, sport stripes are also available.
The engine is a recently developed 1.6 Liter direct injection, four-cylinder turbocharged engine, which delivers a total of 218 HP at 6,100 rpm and a peak torque of 207 lb-ft between 2,000 and 5,600 rpm. The engine features BMW group’s Valvetronic technology. This is the first ever Mini to boast of all-wheel drive system as a standard feature. The car comes with acombination of a sport exhaust system, brake energy regeneration, shift point display and Auto start and stop function for models with the six-speed manual gearbox. One can also choose to have the six-speed automatic transmission variant.
The 2013 MINI John Cooper Works Countryman will have sport seats in Diagonal Track Carbon Black Cloth trimmed with red contrasting stitches. The whole of cabin, door panels and centralconsoles are painted in Piano Black, flourishes for the cabin and doors are painted in Chili Red. It has sports suspension, strengthened anti-roll bars and on-board ‘Sport’ switch enhances the responsiveness and sound of the engine as well as the power assistance provided by the steering.
Next week this top-end variant of Mini will be present at Geneva Motor Show and soon it will go on sale worldwide.
