New 2018 Honda Insight Teased Ahead Of Detroit Motor Show Debut

The Honda Insight is coming back, and it’s actually looking rather good. Honda unveiled new pictures of an all-new, revamped hybrid, and it marks a huge change to the previous version of the car. Honda says it’ll be shown at the 2018 Detroit motor show, and from the outside at least, it looks pretty stylish.

New pictures released show a slick saloon that has hints of the newest Civic and a little of the new Honda Accord – and it makes for a rather svelte saloon. The prototype model shown – which is likely near to production spec – features a similar front end to Honda’s superhatch, but the rest of the car is a little more in keeping with its five-seater proportions.

On the inside, the new Honda Insight continues to copy some elements of the Honda Civic. The infotainment system looks to be similar, while the general design language is the same style you’ll find in most of Honda’s current lineup.

As expected, the Honda Insight will be a hybrid car, and should use the same technology already seen in the 2018 Honda Accord hybrid. That means we’ll likely see a system that comprises of two electric motors, along with a 2.0-litre Atkinson cycle engine.
