Polaris India Eyeing Electric Car Space in India

Polaris India, a major multi terrain vehicle manufacturing company is planning to introduce electric cars to Indian market, which is at present plagued with lack of infrastructure. It is a fully owned subsidiary of Polaris Industries Inc. and is eyeing to generate a total of Rs. 5 billion revenue by the year 2016 from Indian automotive market. It has introduced its spectrum of ATVs (All Terrain Vehicles) in India. Mr. Pankaj Dubey, Managing Director at Polaris India said that once they introduce electric vehicles, then will further plan to launch off-road or on-road vehicle. The products are ready for global market and issues such as battery, infrastructure and other problems are there.

Polaris India Eyeing Electric Car Space in India

The reports mentioned that Polaris India has two electric vehicles called Breeze and Gem for European and United States markets, and is looking around 50% of its revenue from utility vehicle class used in industrial and mining purposes. Polaris India was founded as completely owned subsidiary of United States-based Polaris Industries that manufactures, designs, markets and engineers pioneering, top notch off-road vehicles, groundbreaking All Terrain Vehicles, snowmobiles, on-road electric cars, motorcycles and Polaris RANGER. It introduced its flagship products such as side by side vehicles, All Terrain Vehicles and snowmobiles in the month of August 2011 in India.
