Renault-Nissan, India Appoints Kou Kimura as NEW CEO & MD

Renault-Nissan Automotive India Private Ltd. recently announced that Kou Kimura was appointed as the new Managing Director and CEO for their Oragadam manufacturing facility located near Chennai. Kimura was promoted to the position of MD & CEO, from his earlier SVP – Plant Operations of Oragadam Facility position, which he had held from 2008 onwards. Kou Kimura will be replacing Akira Sakurai who had successfully steered the operations at RNAIPL during their first production phase. After spending two years as the RNAIPL MD & CEO, Sakurai has been appointed as the SVP of Industrial Engineering and Manufacturing division at the company’s Japanese Corporate Headquarters.

According to the company, Kimura has a graduate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Touhoku University of Japan. He began his career in Nissan’s Oppama Plant based in Japan in 1977. Before coming to India, Kimura held many positions at the headquarters of Nissan in Japan as well as the UK. The company also said that Marc Nassif who is Renault’s Managing Director and Country General Manager in India,will continue his role of RNAIPL Deputy CEO.
