Skoda Introduces New Open-top Fabia vRS S2000

Skoda recently unveiled their new version, open-top roadster, the Fabia vRS S2000 during the GTI-Treffen tuning occasion by Volkswagen in Worthersee. The concept model has been specifically built and designed for their annual show. The CEO of Skoda, Winfried Vahland, said that their hand-built roadster model was created for showcasing the things they can do with their Skoda Fabia model.

He added that their designers were briefed to develop a unique roadster with the single aim in mind, dynamism and joy derived from sport driving. The all wheel roadster model is powered by a four cylinder twin turbocharged 2.0l petrol engine that is capable of producing more than 200hp. The model has a weight of around 1,200kgs, with a widened wheelbase of more than 120mm.

The concept model featured a low-raked windscreen that according to Skoda will allow the car’s occupants to get a more panoramic view feeling ‘one with nature’. In spite of being an open top model, the Fabia vRS S2000 has room enough for four people.

The model sports the same colour as the Fabia vRS. Some of the design changes include new scoops on the bonnet for more cooling, white alloy 18” wheels, side skirts, rear diffuser and flared wheel arches that have cooling ducts. Inside the model, the dashboard has been carbonfibre trimmed, which is also present in door inserts. The front passengers have sport bucket seats with a green piping and four point seat belts.
