“Zest has to go for it” seemed to be the mantra going inside the marketing team of Tata Motors these days. Numerous contests and ultimate promotions strategies with number of official letters flowing through media desks informing about the events and contests, one such landed this morning as well.

Tata Motors concluded MyCityMyZest contest and Delhi is announced as the winner. A total of 61,156 tweets by 1,120 people have resulted in Delhi winning the contest. It will be the first city to get an exclusive preview of the brand new car, the Zest from Tata Motors. The first Zest Studio has been set-up in Ambience Mall, Gurgaon yesterday, where top 30 participants from Delhi will be honored with gifts and will be given priority access to drive the Zest.

Never before has a test drive been such a creatively holistic experience, allowing customers to fully engage with the car. The Zest experience will bring alive the three vectors – Designext, Drivenext and Connectnext for our customers.”

The Zest Studio is already started in Delhi yesterday at Ambience Mall, Gurgaon and will be in the city till 5th September. These studios will give an opportunity to car enthusiasts to test drive the Zest and engage in various activities and interactive games.

The studio will not only allow customers to experience the car but would also help them to understand everything about the car through a high-tech Interactive Touchscreen Brochure. Customers can play the Revotron Challenge game to experience the multi-drive mode features in the car. Tata Motors cautions general public against fraudulent promotions

In a league to battle the wrong doings under its name by others, Tata Motors had send us the official words to intimate the general public not to fall prey to fraudulent promotional offers and advertisements which leads to demanding of cash deposits or other way of extracting money from the pockets.

Tata Motors has cautioned potential customers and the general public on fraudulent promotional offers and advertisements wherein amongst other things, the person or group of persons have been wrongfully extracting/ demanding cash deposit(s) in certain specified bank(s) from general public. These individuals are also wrongfully using Tata Motor’s registered trademark to lure public into this trap.

Tata Motors would like to state that these communications are purely made with the intent to defraud the general public and Tata Motors has not authorized any person to require any payment /cash deposit to be made.

Tata Motors cautions general public against fraudulent promotions

The company advised that individuals to exercise caution and not fall prey to any such fraudulent promotional offers purported/claimed to be sent on behalf of Tata Motors. The company has already lodged a police complaint and urged the public not to be misled by any communication which solicits payment or otherwise as part of any promotional scheme.

In recent times, fraudsters have through emails/ sms / unscrupulous newspaper/ television advertisements, promised prizes such as a Tata Motors’ vehicle against caution money deposits. The common modus operandi followed by these fraudsters is to ask prospective buyers / customers to make certain payments towards availing the prizes or a lucky draw. There was also an advertisement released inviting viewers to identify certain filmstars and upon responding they were encouraged to deposit amounts towards registration and transfer of a vehicle and thereafter directed to a Tata Motors facility to collect the vehicle.

Further, Tata Motors’ Intellectual Property Rights have been misused by the unauthorized use of the Company’s name- Tata Motors Ltd., and use of protected names of its vehicles, namely- ‘Tata Safari’, whilst making such unscrupulous newspaper advertisements to lure innocent members of the public to fall into this trap.

Tata Motors urged the public to file a complaint with the local police authorities the moment any caution money was sought from them either for winning a prize or lucky draw.

Tata Truck Racing Ready to Take-Off on March 23, 2014

Car Racing, is been grimed with lot fanfare in India after the inauguration of BIC at Delhi. In fact, BIC doesn’t seems to be limited to that, it is now grown to see the races of articles bigger than a bull and almost near to an elephant. Need not to worry, they will not be the animals who are going to race on the racetrack, instead the Tata Motors has came up with an initiative to race its truck on the said.

Hope so, all Indians maybe well-versed with the facts of Tata Motors truck racing due to exorbitant TVC flashing on the television set on every channel. So the difference in this report is to mention that, the Indian automaker will race its 12 Prima Trucks on a newly created 2.1km ‘short loop’ at the circuit. Hopefully, this new loop, we speculate, has been created specifically for the Tata Trucks to unleash their whole power. Restrictions like top speed of 110kmph is also been reported for the drivers to take care of. The recently added new short dimension to BIC recurs an average time of 2 minutes, 10 seconds whereas the average speed for the giants will be 60kmph.

Tata Motors furthers campaign on School Bus Safety nationally Through ‘Hamare Bus Ki Baat Hai’

Furthering its efforts at training school bus staff, Tata Motors today announced plans on furthering its unique School Bus Safety program called ‘Hamare Bus Ki Baat Hai’. Through Hamare Bus Ki Baat Hai, Tata Motors will organise workshops to educate drivers and school bus staff on the safety of school bus travel, along with creating awareness on the softer aspects of dealing with parents and children. After a successful pilot program across 25 schools in Mumbai, Tata Motors will now take the initiative to over 40 cities, including the five metros – New Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kolkata.

Whether a teacher, a parent, a school bus driver or a partner in the school bus industry, it is of paramount importance that one is committed to educating today’s youth and motoring public, on the importance of school bus safety. Apart from working with enforcement agencies and educational authorities in adhering to school bus guidelines laid down by the Honorable Supreme Court of India, Tata Motors has furthered the cause by designing and bringing together all those involved in the travel of school children, through various interactive programs.

‘Hamare Bus Ki Baat Hai’ is an interactive training session which has been designed with inputs from various stake holders, with the objective to sensitise school bus staff on the safety of school bus travel. Westport and Tata Motors Launches Natural Gas Engine Featuring Westport WP580 Engine Management System

Westport Innovations (TSX:WPT / NASDAQ:WPRT), engineering the world’s most advanced natural gas engines and vehicles, and Tata Motors Limited, India’s largest automobile company, today launched a new spark-ignited (SI) natural gas 3.8L turbocharged engine featuring the Westport WP580 Engine Management System (EMS). Designed to support many engine configurations, the Westport WP580 EMS is also scheduled to be applied to Tata’s 5.7L engine targeting medium-duty applications in late 2014.

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) indicates that India is the fourth largest energy consumer in the world. Vehicles are the country’s second-largest consumer of energy (18%) after industry (42%), according to Thomson Reuters Foundation, and rising vehicle numbers and fuel prices have implications both for India’s economy and its energy security. Tata’s SI natural gas 3.8L turbocharged engine featuring the Westport WP580 EMS was displayed at India’s Auto Expo in New Delhi, India, from February 7 to 11.

Tata Motors brings truck racing to India, Launches T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship

Tata Motors today announced the launch of the T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship to bring truck racing to India for the first time. The first ever truck racing championship in India, has been inscribed on the calendars of FIA (Federation Internationale de l’Automobile) and FMSCI (the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India). The Truck Racing Championship will be held on March 23, 2014, at the internationally acclaimed Budh International Circuit to give Indian audiences a grand spectacle of trucks competing against each other.

T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship is being conducted under the aegis of FIA & FMSCI. The FIA is the governing body for world motor sport and the federation of the world’s leading motoring organisations. One of the core responsibilities of the FIA is the development of motor sport worldwide. Through its national member clubs the FIA is involved in every level of motor sport and its remit extends to the millions of amateurs and professionals who enjoy motor sport in all of its variety. The FMSCI is a long-standing member of the FIA and is the only national motor sport federation recognised by the Government of India, for the promotion and control of motor sport in India, and is affiliated to the prestigious Indian Olympic Association.

The championship will feature 12 Tata Prima trucks, built for the purpose. These will be divided among six teams, with participation from experienced international drivers. Tata Prima 4038.S will compete in the T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship 2014, with the massive power of 370 BHP @ 2100 RPM and a top speed of 110 Km/h. To make these Prima trucks fit for racing, 22 key modifications were made to meet a mix of safety and performance needs as per guidelines from British Truck Racing Association. These included significant changes in fuel tank, brake cooling system, propeller shaft guards, racing seats and safety belts, exhaust, steering wheel among others. The trucks have gone through multiple quality checks and also tested on the test circuit at Jamshedpur for high speed run and control.

Tata Vista Tech launched in India
The new Tata Vista VX Tech top-of-the-line limited edition variant has at its centre, a 6.5” TFT touchscreen based multimedia system designed for audio (radio and CD), video (DVD), USB, Blue-5 (Bluetooth pairing with upto 5 different mobile phones), AUX-IN and advanced GPS navigation system.

These elaborate features can be conveniently controlled by the driver from the illuminated steering wheel mounted controls. The Vista range also offers a Drive Pro Console and an advanced driver information system at the center console. Tata Motors December sales stood at 37,852 nos

Tata Motors’ total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in December 2013 were 37,852 vehicles. The company’s domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for December 2013 were 35,010 nos.

Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal were 435,095 nos.

The company’s sales of commercial vehicles in December 2013 in the domestic market were 25,738 nos., LCV sales were 18,079 nos., while M&HCV sales stood at 7,659 nos.

Tata Motors December sales stood at 37,852 nos

Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal were 295,319 nos. Cumulative LCV sales were 214,781 nos., while M&HCV sales stood at 80,538 units.

Sales of passenger vehicles for December 2013 were at 9,272 nos. Sales of the Nano/ Indica/ Indigo range in December 2013 were 6,537 nos. The Sumo/ Safari/ Aria/ Venture range sales were 2,735 nos.

Cumulative sales of passenger vehicles were 103,516 nos. Cumulative sales of the Nano/ Indica/ Indigo range were at 79,937 nos. Cumulative sales of the Sumo/Safari/ Aria/ Venture range were 23,579 nos.

The company’s sales from exports were 2,842 nos. in December 2013. Cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal were 36,260 nos.

More Powerful Version of Tata Safari Storme Spotted Testing in India

Safari Storme is one of the most promising horses in Tata Motors’ stable. Disappointment to the feat is this charming SUV faced a tremendous delay in getting the revamp. Our friends at Motorbash have just partied on more powerful variant of the SUV by means of their latest spy-shots.

Going through the spy-shots not much of the difference can be spotted, but the website is claiming they have seen the “400Nm BS IV” sticker on front windshield of vehicle. One of the patch is also been posted with the ‘Dec-2014’ alt tag on it, hence we couldn’t figure what this means to a layman.

The spotted test mule was doing rounds on roads of Pune and was also the Right Hand Drive variant.

Confirming details about the new Storme variant, it is learnt to be producing 155-160bhp and 400Nm of torque, as compared to the earlier ones of 140bhp and 320Nm from a 2.2L VARICOR diesel engine.
