The Hyundai i20 is available in two petrol and a single engines:

  • 1.2-litre, DOHC 16 valve, Kappa generating 79bhp@5200rpm.
  • 1.4-litre, DOHC 16 valve giving power 99bhp.
  • 1.4-litre, DOHC 16 valve CRDi Diesel engine generating 89bhp@4000rpm.

The vehicle adheres to Euro V norms of emission. The engine has been known to deliver the highest level of performance and at the same maintaining optimum fuel economy. The car has been made available in India with 7 petrol and 4 diesel models.

McPherson struts have been incorporated into the car’s suspension coupled with a stabilizer bar at the front along with torsion-beam axle having coil springs fitted at the rear. Shock absorbers fill with gas combine with the suspension system thereby making the i20 a car optimally suited to counter Indian driving conditions.

The power steering provided is driven by motor and makes city driving very effortless thereby adding overall to the car’s experience.

The car has an elegant and contemporary look. The grilles are slim and chrome finished and is flanked by huge air dams, exquisite headlamps, creases on the bonnet and a vertical tailgate. A large space below the tailgate gives sufficient space to store luggage. Additionally, prominent and striking lines have been mated with the sculpted panels to give the car its modern contemporary look. The car has been made available in seven colours.

The interiors of the car get glorified through blue LED illumination. The large enough cabin space has been ornamented with a silver coloured finish to the centre fascia as well as the AC vents thereby adding to the elegance of the vehicle. The car has been designed with precision and a very elegant layout has been provided, you feel great driving comfort thanks to the designing of the interiors. Some of the vast features that have been included in the Hyundai i20 include door locks and passenger mirrors with chrome finishing. The additional features that have been provided are AC/Heater, Split folded rear seats, telescopic and tilt steering, an MP3 based music system with 2 DIN CD, two toned beige interiors, glove box with refrigeration, a multi info display and tachometer; all these being provided in the standard models. The users have the choice of getting added features at extra costs including fully auto AC, steering wheel wrapped in leather with TGS knob, audio controls mounted on the steering, keyless entry with foldable keys, a driver seat that adjusts to height and many more.

All the models of the Hyundai i20 have been so designed to provide extraordinary levels of safety to both the drivers and the passengers alike, technologies like ABS further equipped with EBD, engine immobilizers and air bags have all been provided, this again is the first Indian car that has been provided with 6 airbags in order to improve passenger and driver safety.

The Hyundai i20 is a compact, powerful, pleasurable and safe car doing justice to all these terms through its features.
