The GTI Roadster, Vision GT (GranTurismo) is a supercar, which has developed and designed for a singular mission: the highly famous Sony PlayStation videogame. This ultimate and extreme interpretation of the Golf GTI will make be launched at the Woerthersee Festival in Austria, which begins on 28th May. Like the Design Vision GTI, which was introduced at the same event last year, the GTI Roadster, Vision GranTurismo uses the Golf GTI Design DNA for creating a strong sporting statement, with unique horizontal graphics.

Motivation for the GT comes from a twin turbocharged 3.0 liter VR6 TSI powerplant, which is good for producing 503 horsepower with a massive 491 pound feet of torque. The GTI Roadster, Design GranTurismo concept is ferociously fast and its speed exacerbated by the low-cut windshield. The engine will be mated to a DSG dual-clutch 7-speed automatic transmission that’s programmed to give incredibly fast shifts on the racetrack.

Roadholding on the track is optimized thanks to a gigantic rear wing, a race-car-style front splitter and an integrated rear diffuser. The vehicle comes standard with 20-inch wheels, which carry 235/35 front and 275/30 rear tires; alternatively the 4Motion all-wheel drive system helps to transmit the torque to the pavement. Supercar-style vented disc brakes are fitted, with a diameter of 15.0 inches up front and 14.0 inches at the back.
