The global hatchback that has been produced by Maruti Suzuki, which was previously known as YL7, is now called the Celerio and is scheduled to make its debut at the 2014 New Delhi Auto Expo.

This name is already being used by Maruti Suzuki in some places like the Philippines, where this name has been given specifically to the A-Star. The company is expecting that the launch of the car in India would replace the space that has been created by the discontinued Zen Estilo.

Suzuki is also hoping that the car will replace the A-Star as well in the Indian market. The Celerio has already been previewed at the Thailand Motor Show 2013 by the Suzuki A: Wind Concept. The company will be presenting the production version of the car at the 2014 Auto Expo that will be held in New Delhi.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio is expected to feature a 1-litre, K10 engine, just like the other petrol engines of Maruti K series. Being a new car, it is surely said to be better tuned that the previous cars in order to offer greater efficiency to the customers. Maruti also anticipates that the launch of this new car would lead to the end of “Alto” in the international market, while cars like Alto K10 and the Alto 800 will still be sold in the Indian market along with the new Maruti Suzuki Celerio.
