Looks can be Deceptive:
The first look at the Audi A6 Saloon 2.0 TDi could make you feel that the older version has just received a bit of a face-lift. However, first impressions that this is just a version with some touchwork on the grille and handlamps is not true; it indeed is a new car! The manufacturers had hit paydirt with the A6, and they have just stuck to the winning formula, call it playing safe.

Risks of playing safe though are profound; consumers might end up thinking it to be the old one and bypass it altogether, the infamous example of Jaguar 2003 XJ, replacing its old steel car with an all-new aluminium one; yet none noticed!
New Variant Introduced:
By adding the 2.0 litre diesel motor, the A6 now provides the consumers with the option of choosing between four engines – 2.0 TDI, 3.0 TDI, 2.8 FSI and 3.0 TFSI.
The base variants continue to rule the roost in terms of preferential treatment received from the buyers of luxury cars. This is because of the fact that even though the consumers are going for a higher segment model, they would still have a strong inkling towards models that are affordable as well as have lower operating costs. Testimony to this fact stands the study report on the sales of the BMW 5-series, where the major portion of the sales numbers was achieved from its base model, the 520d. Audi strongly believes that the same theory would hold good for them too and hence they hope to achieve a strong presence in the market through its 177bhp 2.0 TDI entry-level model.
Audi, in this model, has tried to achieve the performance required to match the needs of daily driving with its 177bhp 2.0 TDI, 1968 cc engine, and can be arguably said that, with its light weight, front wheel drive and the standard six-speed maual box, the car has a distinct advantage over other cars in its segment. The Audi A6 can reach from 0 to 100 kmph in under 6 seconds, peaking to 250 kmph.
Premium Technology – Fuel Economy:
The new Audi A6 Saloon 2.0 Tdi comes to you laden with premium technology, and a very skilfully built lightweight body shell, this owing to the usage of a high proportion of aluminium components. Intuitive and easy-to-use range of assistance and multimedia systems further adds to the features. The car has been tested in a coast-to-coast drive and the automakers claim that the saloon would operate at a highly commendable efficiency figure of 18.9 kmpl, on Indian roads. Analysts feel that this might have been achieved due to ‘Audi Ultra’, the manufacturers’ new lightweight and hybrid bodyshell technology. Also, the lower emission levels of the car, is in line with its commitment towards the environment.
The exteriors of this car, with its aggressive looks, indeed catch your eye, with its straight line and neat cuts. Adding to the beauty are alloy wheels, frontal fog lights, power adjustable exterior rear view mirrors, rain sensing wipers, rear window washer and defogger to name a few. The exterior dimensions are: length 4.915m, width 1.874m, height 1.455m with a wheel base of 2.912m.
With a tagline, “The better of the Best”, the Multimedia Information (MMI) Navigation system at the centre console, displays important vehicle information. Internal comfort is ensured through its quality leather upholestry, and other accessories to match the colour of interior chosen, alongwith Airconditioner, Heather and an adjustable steering column to name a few.
