Skoda India had teased the Slavia earlier this month, which is to be the Rapid’s successor, based on the MQB A0 IN platform specifically designed for India. The brand had teased the silhouette of the car, hinting that it will be bigger in dimension than the Rapid, as the body lines now showcase a bodystyle similar to the Octavia & the Superb.

The Slavia is said to be sharing the powertrain with the Kushaq and will be offered in a 1.0 & 1.5 Litre TSI turbo charged petrol engine.

MG Announces – Saarthi Initiative

MG Motors India, announced this week a rather unusual and unique empowerment initiative named- Saarthi Program, for the upskilling of the chauffeurs of MG Customers. MG in India is continuously innovating with new initiatives and features to appeal to the younger generation of buyers. The new age tech-driven vehicles with advanced tech and hi- tech Autonomous Assistance features, definitely improve the buyers driving experience but what if you do not really drive your vehicle, but  still want to be safe in your car with the use of those safety features. As the literacy rate in our country for chauffeurs is not very high for them to be familiar with such features.

To solve this critical pain point of customers, MG Motors India has partnered with Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) for this initiative. Under the Saarthi program, chauffeurs will be familiarised with the advanced tech and Autonomous Driving Assist features through theoretical and practical approaches. MG claims that this initiative will provide an enhanced, smarter and safer experience of MG Vehicles and the best part of this initiative, customers can sign up their chauffeurs for the Saarthi Program on MG’s Website, free of cost.

MG Motor India, plans to train 1000 chauffeurs in the next 2 months and 10000 by March 2022 and those are some serious commitments to make, let’s wait and watch how effective this initiative will actually prove to be and by when.
