BMW 3-Series GT is unmistakable out on the road. The coupe-like silhouette, bigger appearance, and extraordinary power underneath the hood are mere definitions to portray it in the limelight. Seemed BMW wasn’t contended with the said, as it now launched the Sports Line trim of the model in India, which is more exclusive and upmarket, strewn with luxuries never seen before, for a price of Rs 39.9 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
On outer, the blackened kidney grille with darkened slats and chromed outlining, black chrome finish on the exhaust, and the bumper tweaked minutely are some visual differentiations carried out for the 3-Series GT Sports Line.
Open the door, and one can notice the distinct door sills with the letters mentioning “BMW Sport”, ambient lighting (white or orange), contrasting stitches in red across the seats and steering wheel and wood trim with detailing of chrome.
For India, this Sports Line will reportedly be manufactured at the Chennai manufacturing facility, where its standard siblings are made. And it will offer three shades of outer for buyers to choose from: Imperial Blue Brilliant Effect, Black Sapphire, and Midnight Blue, all positioned alongside a non-metallic Alpine White.
Fitted on the base of 320d trim-level, the car will find its way accompanied by a 2.0-litre diesel engine mated to an 8-speed auto gearbox, sending max power of 184bhp @ 4000rpm, and peak torque of 380Nm between 1750 – 2750rpm.
In addition to those aforesaid features, the standard enthralling cues that follow it are frameless doors, active rear spoiler and sports seats.
Commenting at the launch, Philipp von Sahr, President, BMW Group India said the rich looking interiors hadn’t contributed to the car immensely; rather it is the features that have brought GT closer to the buyers. New 3 Series Gran Turismo Sport Line is well designed and looked after on outer as well interior, those high-gloss Black cues offer it the unmistakable glamour.
