Sail U-VA hatchback was carrying the Chevy’s hope for Indian market but seeing to the present sales scenario it seems that Americans will need more efforts to lift their dreams back again on the tracks.
Started with hefty sales figure of 1,595 units in November last year, now it ended on the dwindling note of 560 units for February 2013. To arrest the sliding sales Chevrolet had thought of reducing price, which sounds like a prominent workout but still can’t say will it work for this offering or not. The previous pricing tag conveys Rs. 4.44 lakh (ex-showroom Thane) numbering for base 1.2-litre petrol in 2013 make, which is then replaced by Rs. 4.19 lakh. An additional Rs. 3,000 off is also awarded on corporate models.
Getting a year back, Chevy is keen to sell out the 2012 models by applying Rs. 25,000 discounts on both petrol and diesel variants tempting to start from Rs 3.94 lakh.
Chevrolet Sail U-VA uses 1.2 liter petrol and 1.3 liter Fiat sourced diesel, while it is a first roll out from GM-SAIC venture.
