Ferrari 458 Italia ’20th Anniversary’ Special Edition in China

The year 2012 marks the 20th anniversary for Ferrari in China as the first Ferrari, the 348 TS rolled into Beijing in the year 1992. Ferrari rolled out the very first 348 TS, into the Chinese market. The Italian sports car marque is marking the occasion by opening its first long-term brand exhibition outside Maranello, at the Italia Center of Shanghai World Expo Park, which incidentally happens to be the city which first welcomed Ferrari.

The Ferrari Exhibition will feature five themes, such as Ferrari in China, Green Technology, Products, Design and Racing. Spread over an area of 900 sq meters, the exhibition is planned for three years; the event will be filled with theme-related content from the Ferrari Museum in Maranello.

Also rolling in at the Beijing Motor show is a special edition Ferrari, the 458 Italia, which is built exclusively built for 20 lucky motor heads. Each model will be inspired from Chinese culture and will come finished in a uniquely created Marco Polo Red shade. ‘Longma’ – a Chinese mythological winged horse with dragon scales, has inspired the Ferrari 458 special edition. Up on the hood is black stripe that resembles racetrack and an image of a golden dragon.

The image of the soaring dragon and the prancing horse provide the finishing touch on the hood. A gold finish to the rims and the aeroelastic winglets go along with the special edition theme. The 20th anniversary special edition theme follows inside with the cars receiving gold seat stitching, starring “20th Anniversary Special Edition” plate and a ‘start’ button featuring the word in Chinese scripture.
