On 27th September, Bangalore would be a witness to McLaren Mercedes’ driver Lewis Hamilton’s driving skills when he speeds around to thrill Bangaloreans on a speedy, fast track. His sponsors confirmed his participation.

Vodafone Essar, sponsors for McLaren Mercedes announced that race enthusiasts in Bangalore would be witnessing a rare event and considers this opportunity to be taken by many race fans who’d be watching Lewis Hamilton race on the infrastructure built by Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise (NICE) situated along the Bangalore/Mysore road.

This is Lewis Hamilton’s 4th visit to India from 2008 where he’d be negotiating the city’s curves in a McLaren Mercedes F1 car.

Hamilton to grip the streets of Bangalore in SeptemberVodafone further confirmed as part of the event promotion they would be displaying Hamilton’s Copy along with the McLaren Mercedes car at a mall in the suburbs of Malleshwaram.

There would be contests held where customers could win 30 passes to watch Hamilton live. Apart from that, they would chose 10 lucky people who would drive to the paddocks with Hamilton and 3 lucky customers who would personally have the opportunity of meeting Lewis Hamilton. The event also acts as a promotion to create awareness among the masses here in India for the first ever F1 race to be held in Delhi when India would be hosting the Indian GP in October.

Previously, Mumbai witnessed Hamilton’s karting skills in 2008, was here in 2009 for a cricketing event and then at Chennai Motorsports Club in 2010.

Hamilton won the F1 title in 2008, currently not doing bad team wise, but McLaren drivers are indeed having problems when it comes to consistency in races, doing well in some and not so in others.

Organisers have really got into act by promoting racing in a hugely populated country like India where the F1 buzz is catching up. Previously, former McLaren ace and Red Bull’s David Coulthard was in Mumbai exhibiting the power of the Red Bull F1 car doing rounds on the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.
