Hyundai Eon with 1.0L Kappa Engine Launched for Rs 3.83 lakh

Waited for the compact SUV to be launched, Hyundai dropped in the new Eon with 1.0 Litre Kappa engine available only in Magna+ variant.

Priced at Rs 3.83 lakh (ex-showroom, New-Delhi) the new 1.0 Litre Eon will be sold alongside the existing 0.8 Litre Eon variant.

The 1.0 Litre Kappa petrol engine is equipped with latest Dual VTVT technology and is capable of Euro 5 norms. Its design and structuring is compelled to deliver high performance, enhanced fuel efficiency and low emissions. Plated with three-cylinder the 1.0 Litre Kappa delivers power of 69PS@6,200 rpm and peak torque at 9.6 kgm at 3500 rpm with fuel efficiency of 20.3 Kmpl (as per ARAI).

Confirming its technicalities, the all-aluminum 1.0 Litre Kappa engine weighs impressively lesser. In short, it is the same motor that is planted on the i10 Grand. The heads and block of the pistons are made of aluminum for the better fuel-economy. To minimize the noise, vibration & harshness levels (NVH), low friction timing chain has been adopted while the piston cooling jets ensures optimum piston temperature for most efficient engine working for higher fuel economy & enhanced engine performance. A 5-speed manual gearbox attached to it offers smooth gear shifting and has low noise gear design for improved NVH.

The new Eon with 1.0 Litre Kappa engine will rival with Datsun GO, Alto K10, Chevrolet Spark and their likes.
